Can we talk? You’re probably asking, “talk about what’?
Can we get deep and personal for a moment?
What’s your motive? What’s on your agenda?
I ask these questions because as I was sitting in my “come to Jesus spot” (a place I go to morning, noon, and night, to meet Him for alone time).
I had to ask myself, “Am I doing all I can do for Jesus, for His kingdom, for His people, my fellow siblings in Christ. I believe that I am doing what God asks of me on a daily basis, but as believers we always think we can do more, but, ”more for who?” (Colo.3:23) Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.
God doesn’t want any of His children doing anything on their own, if they belong to Him. He wants to be the One leading and guiding our every step, whether that’s you or anyone else… He wants to be #1! That also includes helping another man, because it can quickly turn into works…..
So, always ask yourself…..Am I wanting to do this for (God, self, or another person). Is it to get praise? Was there a prompt from the Holy Spirit, or a word from God to help, to go, or to do?
The one thing you don’t want to do is to go, or do, or step out, ahead of God! Not the one leading you (supposedly)just because you felt like giving that day. Just wait til He says “Now” or “Go”.Pertaining to any situation (Psalm 27;14)Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the LORD!
Does that mean that you’re trying to be your own God, doing something God never told you to pick up and get involved with, in the first place?
Or, does that mean “you think you can work things out on your own without God’s input? (John 15:5)I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
Or, does that mean you’re just trying to gratify your flesh and feel like you’re helping God out…..
If you always find yourself running to man to help you with your issues, or man running to you for help, and never to God, that can become a problem.( Exodus 20:3)“You shall have no other gods before me.
So, how can moving out on my own to help someone, be more damaging than helpful? And, how can, I know about a situation, and do nothing to help, and leave it alone, make me a good Christian?
Simply because: He is trying to get that person to think differently by calling on Him and trusting Him like they do coming to you.
It could be because, He wants the person or persons to depend on Him and believe Him at His Word when they do ask.
Or, because He has someone else already assigned to it?
Or, because He’s allowing them to go through Tests, Trials, and Persecutions for them to be purified!
God will allow you to be tested in the areas where you fall the most to make you better.
(1 Peter 4:12-13) Dear friends, don’t be surprised at the fiery trials you are going through, as if something strange were happening to you. Instead, be very glad—for these trials make you partners with Christ in his suffering, so that you will have the wonderful joy of seeing his glory when it is revealed to all the world.
(Deuteronomy 8:2-3) Remember how the Lord your God led you through the wilderness for these forty years, humbling you and testing you to prove your character, and to find out whether or not you would obey his commands. Yes, he humbled you by letting you go hungry and then feeding you with manna, a food previously unknown to you and your ancestors. He did it to teach you that people do not live by bread alone; rather, we live by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.
Sometime later, God tested Abraham’s faith (Genesis 22:1-2) Now after these things, God tested [the faith and commitment of] Abraham and said to him, “Abraham!” And he answered, “Here I am.” God said, “Take now your son, your only son [of promise], whom you love, Isaac, and go to the region of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.”
I mean I can go on, and on, with scripture on this subject, but that was not my question.
We as believers don’t believe the Devil can have anything to do with us helping someone out, because that is an act of Love and Kindness, which he is not about. But, what you need to know, is that, that’s not always true……Satan has motives and yes, they are all bad.. Full of DECEPTION!! However, he will do whatever he has to do in order to get his mission accomplished, so if he has to appear as false light to get what he wants, then so be it! (2 Cor. 11:14) But I am not surprised! Even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.
The enemy will try and rear his ugly head up in any situation if you don’t see him coming…
You may ask yourself, “why would Satan use me to do something good”. By thinking that way, and telling yourself, you’re doing good by helping in that situation without seeking God and His input, is surely thoughts from the enemy… He will use you to think you’re doing something good, only to throw a wrench in God’s already worked out situation.(1 Peter 5:8) Keep your mind clear, and be alert. Your opponent the devil is prowling around like a roaring lion as he looks for someone to devour.
You have to remember he is one that makes it look like something that it really is not (1 PET. 5:8) 8 Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, ( appearing as) looking for someone to devour
Satan is the only one out for our downfall not God… The Lord is not out to make our lives a living HELL, (No) but only the opposite. He is only here to help us grow in one way or another, for the edifying of His kingdom and His Glory.
So, be careful what you pick up on your own, and in your own doing.
Allow the Holy Spirit to lead you into all truth (John 16:13)But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.
You don’t want to pick something up that’s been sent by Satan, that can grow attached to you, and be a distraction to block God’s blessings in that person’s life…
Use your Discernment in every situation (1 Thessalonians 5:21)But test all things carefully [so you can recognize what is good]. Hold firmly to that which is good.
Be Blessed….
