we are going to have a talk on the subject of Love and Hate…
The type of love I would like to talk about today is that listed as the fruit of the Spirit, in (Galatians 5:22) which is much different from the love people are showing towards each other today.
The love spoken about in (Galatians 5) is translated from the Greek word Agape.
This word (Agape) expresses the highest form of love that comes from God.
This is the type of love we’re supposed to be demonstrating towards one another.
It’s a love, which comes from God Himself, the very (Being) who personifies this attribute.
Let’s read (2 John 1:6).Love means doing what God has commanded us, and he has commanded us to love one another, just as you heard from the beginning.
This is the type of love, we as believers are expected to demonstrate.
As a believer in God and His Son Jesus Christ, we too should exude this spiritual fruit of the Spirit.
We are commanded to do so, aren’t we?
The two great commandments: (Matthew 22:37-39)
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
So, what is love? Do you know? Please don’t say, it’s a feeling… For the World yes, it is, but for us as believers, it’s so much deeper than that… It’s action!
You can tell someone you love them all day long, but if there’s no action behind it, does it really mean anything?
Love is the greatest gift we could have received from God.
The God type of love, (Agape) is something that’s not being demonstrated in this world today. Not even from our fellow siblings in Christ.
If we’re told to walk in this fruit of love, and to show it, even to our enemies, why is it so hard for people to do in their everyday walk, if we know it’s not coming from self effort?
(1 Corinthians 13:4-7)
Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
Humanity has tried for thousands of years to get by without loving God or loving one another, and, for the most part, it hasn’t turned out well at all.
I say that because the world today is full of so much (misery, pain, death, suffering), and many other horrible realities….. And, it all stems from a lack of love!
The world’s version of love, unfortunately, does not come from God, but rather from Satan.
The one who only knows how to show you how to walk in hatred, and to ( kill, steal and destroy).
Yeah, that embittered, fallen Angel, who is your enemy, that one who will stop at nothing to twist anything good God has given to His creation into something bad( John 10:10)The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy.
Do me a favor and place this in your heart, and hold on to it….that love is the most important fruit of the Spirit. Simply considering, because God is love?
(1 Corinthians 13:13)
Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.
Satan thinks he’s winning…. but what a fool he is to think that.
Love conquers all people. So why not allow it to with you and watch for yourself how it’ll start to trickle down. I say that, because it only takes one to get the love train started. read (1Corinthians 13)
Wouldn’t you say it’s pretty hard to be rude, nasty, and hostile towards someone who is showing it to you.
That is exactly why the Word of God says, to Love your Enemies! (Luke 6:27-36)
“But to you who are willing to listen, I say, love your enemies!
Do good to those who hate you. Bless those who curse you.
Pray for those who hurt you.
If someone slaps you on one cheek, offer the other cheek also.
If someone demands your coat, offer your shirt also.
Give to anyone who asks; and when things are taken away from you, don’t try to get them back.
Do to others as you would like them to do to you.
“If you love only those who love you, why should you get credit for that?
Even sinners love those who love them!
And if you do good only to those who do good to you, why should you get credit?
Even sinners do that much! And if you lend money only to those who can repay you, why should you get credit?
Even sinners will lend to other sinners for a full return.
“Love your enemies! Do good to them.
Lend to them without expecting to be repaid.
Then your reward from heaven will be very great, and you will truly be acting as children of the Most High, for he is kind to those who are unthankful and wicked.
You must be compassionate, just as your Father is compassionate.
My, My, My, why is that so hard for people to follow?
Why not take the first step today if you’re not already demonstrating it in your everyday walk.
The Agape kind of love, has got to return into this world, into these United States of America, and His name is Jesus, the epitome of God’s love shown to you and me.
God sent Him, God gave Him, to you and me, just so we could be reconnected back to Him(Matthew 10:32-33)
“Everyone who acknowledges me publicly here on earth, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven.
But everyone who denies me here on earth, I will also deny before my Father in heaven.
Can we agree that love, the lack of it, is the problem in this world today?
After reading all of that in the Word, and having a clear view of the world from day to day, how can you say it’s not the problem… You can’t….
People don’t honor the real meaning behind the word love. It’s thrown around like a rag doll.
It’s meaning is not held high,
It’s meaning has no significace, and people see it as a mere nothing. And, that’s sad.
When I look out into this world today, all I can see is hatred, pure senseless, unadulterated, heinous hatred.
And It’s coming from all over the world.
And, truth be told, it needs to stop. Hatred is what gives the enemy ( Satan) fuel.
It breaks my heart to know that a person can no longer walk down the street and enjoy the weather, stroll their child, or walk their dog, without Satan trying to hurt them.
This is why we need Jesus every step of the way, every minute of every hour, (nah, forget that, every second!) of our lives.
“Us” as believers, need to stay prayed up at all times, and seek His voice for instruction and direction, because He’s the only One that can protect us from the devil.
And, for those of you that don’t have Him in your life as your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, know that it’s never too late to make Him the tower of your life. Your high tower as spoken in (Psalm.144:2) He is my loving ally and my fortress, my tower of safety, my rescuer. He is my shield, and I take refuge in him. He makes the nations submit to me.
This is what He can become to you in your life, and so much more.
God loved you so much, He sent His only begotten son to die for your sins, it’s right here read it for yourself. (John 3:16)”For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life .
And in (1 John 4:10) This is real love–not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.
But you have to try Him for yourself.
Come on pray this with me; “Heavenly Father, I come to You in the Name of Jesus. Your Word says in, “Acts 2:21 “Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved” I am calling on You.
I pray and ask You Jesus to come into my heart and be the Lord over my life.
According to (Romans 10:9-10) It says… “If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God has raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
I do that right now. I confess that Jesus is Lord, and I believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead.
Lord God take my life and do unto it as you choose, I surrender all, in Jesus Name….Amen.
See it was just that simple, you are saved, born again; you’ll never be the same again.
You have made up in your heart and mind that you want to walk with Him and talk with Him every day of your life.
Now the next step for you after making this confession is to find a bible teaching church family who will love you, nurture you, teach you, and raise you up in all you need to know about The Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.
