Do you ever wonder why God pulls the curtain back on the people claiming to walk for Him? Those that are suppose to lead His people into all truth?
He does that because ungodly behaviors cannot reside in a Godly sphere without being (put on blast). Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me.(John 14:21)
I think about all the called people of Christ in this world today, and how (some) have allowed Lasciviousness to overtake them and get found out for the whole world to see.
(Numbers 32:23)But if you fail to keep your word, then you will have sinned against the LORD, and you may be sure that your sin will find you out.
Don’t you think that God warned them before hand to stop what they were doing, before he allowed the whole world to see what was happening?( Heb. 2:1)So we must listen very carefully to the truth we have heard, or we may drift away from it.
This is what happens to those called to preach and teach His word to the lost but, also has another agenda.
Another agenda that’s not fitting to who He is.
And they think, they can hide behind His Word and not be found out for who they really are.( Matt.7:15)“Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.
Now, what about the ones that are walking, but happen to look back, as though they are missing out on something?
As did Lot’s wife, and she turned into a pillar of salt.
And for a lot of those living in this world today, acting as though they came straight out of Sodom and Gomorrah. Genesis 19:23- 26
Lot reached the village just as the sun was rising over the horizon. Then the Lord rained down fire and burning sulfur from the sky on Sodom and Gomorrah. He utterly destroyed them, along with the other cities and villages of the plain, wiping out all the people and every bit of vegetation. But Lot’s wife looked back as she was following behind him, and she turned into a pillar of salt. The Angels did warn all of them not to look back or they will be destroyed “Run for your lives! Don’t look back or stop anywhere in the valley. Run to the mountains, or you will be destroyed.( Gen.19:17)
Lot’s wife took that one last look back and down she went. Do you think she was a woman with regret? Hating to leave that Hell bound place of Sodom and Gomorrah?
Was she enjoying those days of sin along with the others? Well I would say yes, because why would she look back? What would you say?( Matt.26:41)“Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
I’m not here to step on any one’s toes, I’m just here to tell it like it is…From the Bible..
Lasciviousness……What is that? Plain and Simple Weakness of the flesh……..
Lasciviousness
It is a pressure applied to the flesh to dominate it to a point it cannot say “NO” it cannot be restrained “well not in your own strength anyways. Totally self-indulgent.
As stated in Heb. 12:1 the sin that can easily beset one Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up.
It is to have no restraints in thought, tongue, or body.
It leads the mind to sin.
It is having no respect for the person they are in covenant with (marriage).
When Lasciviousness is in play the thought of the other partner does not even play a part.
Lasciviousness is : working all uncleanliness with greed ( It’s all about them)
Shame no longer plays a part to the sin that’s committed.
Yep, here comes mental vanity (is the excessive belief in one’s own abilities or attractiveness to others)
No longer connected to the life of God ( as a Christian)
Living as the world, a pagan /Gentile. And no signs of Jesus is in them.
They are non effective in the body of Christ
They become a source, to where Satan can host his wicked, unclean spirits
As we look over some scriptures we are being shown that this kind of living is not of God – Mark 7:21-22 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornication, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
2 Cor.12:21 And lest, when I come again, my God will humble me among you, and that I shall bewail many which have sinned already, and have not repented of the uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness which they have committed.
Gal. 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
Women, as I read over these scriptures lascivious behavior may also include the way one may dress, calling it sexy (exposing your cleavage, or in other words boobs)
No Christian woman should dress, look, or act in a lascivious manner.
Those who take the word of God seriously will always be courteous to the way she dresses.
And she will abstain from such practices that are against God.
She will also train up her children in pure, morally, respectable behavior.
Lasciviousness also plays a part of viewing sexually explicit (magazines, movies television shows, pornography) even being married and watching this together is still a sin to God.
He does not want you to engage in it at all (Point-Blank-Period)
It’s important for those to know that if you do engage in lasciviousness you are putting your souls in jeopardy, as Paul states to the Galatians in a letter to them Gal 5:19-21 When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
Lasciviousness is a gross form of wickedness that all starts in a sinful heart, that manifests itself in carnal fleshly actions.
Even in Eph. 4:17-19 paul warns us about unclean living. In the Lord’s name, I tell you this. Do not continue living like those who do not believe. Their thoughts are worth nothing. They do not understand, and they know nothing, because they refuse to listen. So they cannot have the life that God gives. They have lost all feeling of shame, and they use their lives for doing evil. They continually want to do all kinds of evil.
So, is there a way to get out of this way of living? Sure there is.
You must overcome the weakness of your flesh by
- Prayer/ Repentance Acts 3:19 Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away.
2. Make a decision to not yield to the flesh, get into God’s presence and stay there Romans 6:12-13
So, do not let sin control your life here on earth so that you do what your sinful self wants to do. Do not offer the parts of your body to serve sin, as things to be used in doing evil. Instead, offer yourselves to God as people who have died and now live. Offer the parts of your body to God to be used in doing good.
- You have to make yourself available to be in the presence of Jesus to free yourself from the flesh Rom 7:4-6 in the same way, my brothers and sisters, your old selves died, and you became free from the law through the body of Christ. This happened so that you might belong to someone else—the One who was raised from the dead—and so that we might be used in service to God. In the past, we were ruled by our sinful selves. The law made us want to do sinful things that controlled our bodies, so the things we did were bringing us death. In the past, the law held us like prisoners, but our old selves died, and we were made free from the law. So now we serve God in a new way with the Spirit, and not in the old way with written rules.
- Meditate on His promises
Joshua 1:8
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
- Fast (to get your flesh aligned back to the Spirit of God) Matt 6:16-18″Whenever you fast, do not put on a gloomy face as the hypocrites do, for they neglect their appearance so that they will be noticed by men when they are fasting Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full. “But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face so that your fasting will not be noticed by men, but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.
- Surround yourself with people who can guide you Prov 13:20 Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.
Just remember it’s not over until God says it’s over…. With God all things are possible to him that believes. Mark 9:23
Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”
