Can we talk about the peace of God today? So many people walk around today with no peace. (why)… Why do we as mere humans in this earth allow the stresses of this life take our peace?
Why is it that people of today focus more on their issues of life than they do on Jesus?
If we can only capture the reality of it all that Jesus is our peace and He is the only way to maintain that peace that should be packed to go along with us every day and everywhere we go. For the word of God does say in –
Gal. 5:22
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.
So, if peace is a fruit of the Spirit, why is it that so many Christians walk around like they don’t know what it is? We should allow no one or nothing to steal our joy or our peace…. point, blank, period!!! Peace – “Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1). “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” (Romans 15:13).
Okay, since we got that out-of-the-way, let’s look to see what the Word of God has to say about PEACE.
Colossians 3:15
15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.
People, we are to let God’s peace act as an umpire, peace should be the deciding factor as to if something stays in your life or gets removed from your life. The decision should always be decided due to the peace you receive from a thing or better yet a person.
Question? Are you able to discern the peace of God? If a person cannot discern the peace of God then they will not be able to discern in their Spirits when God is telling them to do something or telling them not to do something, to go somewhere or not to go somewhere. You must make sure there is peace about it. Where there is peace there will also be God.
Philippians 4:6-7
6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Think about it like this; If you decide to do something, go somewhere, speak on something, or buy something and there is no peace about it then don’t do it…. this is being obedient to the promptings of your Spirit remember there will be consequences to your disobedience. Peace is given to you for a reason and if you go against His peace you are being disobedient to His promptings.
In Mark 8:14-17 the Lord is talking to His disciples trying to explain something to them they had no clue about, they were confused about what He was saying which bought about them reasoning amongst themselves…… (Please Read)
Listen, it truly goes like this, when you are always trying to figure things out on your own this is called “REASONING” and it will always steal your peace. you must be willing to let go of the things that are not important to your spiritual growth. Just because you may feel a certain way about something does not give you the right to lose your peace about it, just because you reasoned amongst yourself that you must say this or say that to make a point.
If God has not given you peace to say it “leave it alone”, where there is reasoning there is no peace and God is not involved…. Let’s make one thing clear…. REASONING is of the devil and PEACE and DISCERNMENT is of God and He will give us the answer to what we are trying to figure out if we Ask Him. Reasoning all day long is CARNAL MINDEDNESS vs, discernment being SPIRITUAL MINDEDNESS all day long which leads to life and peace (Rom. 8:6-10 please read)
As I read over Job.22:21
21 “Submit to God, and you will have peace;
then things will go well for you.
It explains a lot. By joining yourself with God peace will come because of it, and good will come as well. It really goes hand in hand with peace. Only good things come from the result of it.
In this scripture Psalms 85:8 I do see that there is a way to always walk in the peace of God. God is always speaking peace to His saints (those in right standing with Him). When there is no self-confidence involved. Self-confidence is saying I know what’s right and what’s wrong and (sorry) but no help is needed. Why get saved if you know what is best for your life …. why need a Savior? You see, that’s the problem….” you don’t know it all, and you do need His help along with His peace in your day-to-day life”.
Doesn’t it bring you joy and peace to know this scripture right here Prov 16:7…. Knowing that when you and God are one, He will see to it that your enemies leave you alone.
Isa.26:3 being kept in perfect peace!!! God will keep you in perfect peace (no) not when your mind is wandering or at reasoning but ONLY…. when your mind is stayed on Him, trusting nothing but His direction at every step……now that is a peace I cannot live without…
People, you do know that this is all because of His MERCY, right? I say this because as I’m lead to Isa. 54:10, it reminds me that God has handed down His covenant of Peace to us and when you’re a covenant partner it cannot be eradicated and this is because of His mercy, something given to us without having to do anything to get it but be ONE with Him………….whatever is going to cost you your peace, is too expensive…….
