I want to ask you a sincere question – If God Was to call you today would you know His voice? could you hear Him?
Matthew 13:9 Jesus wants to know if you are tuned in to hear Him?
Jesus spoke so many times in Parables because…. ” He said while seeing they do not see and while hearing they do not hear nor do they understand”. (Matt. 13:13)
All it takes to hear God speak is the ability to hear, and the want to, if you’re going to hear God you got to be near to God.
It brings me to the story about Samuel – God called his name three times but yet he did not recognize His voice. Eli had to tell him in (hindsight) that it was the Lord calling his name (1 Sam. 3:9-14)
Isn’t it something that the same person telling Samuel how to respond on hearing wasn’t being obedient in that area himself –
Samuel had to give God permission to speak to him. when is the last time you heard God call your name and you didn’t recognize His voice and Him trying to get you to say those same words. “Speak Lord for your servant hears”?
What has the Lord been speaking to you, but your ears are dull of hearing, or you simply just don’t know His voice? Go ahead and try these things….
By knowing Him ( gets saved)
By spending time with Him
(get still and silent)
By prayer (talk to Him)
By reading His love letter to you (get in His word)
. . . . Matthew 13:16…….
When we hear, Listen, and Obey, the only thing that comes from that is us being blessed, other people being blessed, and God’s kingdom being benefited from your obedience. ( now what more do you need)?
According to Matthew 13: 18- 23 your ears can save you – hear, listen, and stop being distracted..
Don’t you know that many times hearing leads to seeing? (It’s called shifting) either you here and get distracted or you hear and obey – what noise are you listening to?
Let’s not only hear, but let’s listen as well- (Psalm. 115:6-7) (Isaiah. 42:23)
Don’t just allow Satan to take what’s yours. –
Do yourself a favor read the entire chapter of Matthew 13
Whether you see it or not hearing from God is a heart condition, how open is your heart to God to hear from Him?
Pro. 23:12 – Isa. 6:10 – Eze. 3:10 – Acts. 7:51… after reading those scriptures can you now see the correlation between the two?
It’s time to open up your ears to rebuking, exhortations, Corrections, Criticisms and guidance from God for your lives….. trust and believe it is only for your good.
Don’t you know you can attend church on a regular basis and still remain deaf? Don’t walk around with uncircumcised ears…. it only leads to disaster.
This brings me right back around to the story about Samuel and Eli –
God was trying to speak to Samuel but he did not know God’s voice – why didn’t God just go to Eli who knew His voice? because Eli refused to obey God’s voice and God stopped talking to Eli and started talking to Samuel….
Just remember your No is always someone else’s Yes
SO! be attentive to God’s voice and what you hear Him telling you to do – I promise it will be beneficial to you and the ones around you..
