As my husband and I were in bible study together God gave us a revelation that was so simplified and to the point.
It went like this; To make a cake, the main ingredient is what? Flour right? And everything else that goes into that flour makes up the cake, but the main ingredient is flour. Can we agree on that?
Now, what is it that makes up the cake and brings in the flavor? It’s the ingredients that goes inside of that flour that makes the cake whole, tasty and ready for the final outcome right?
Okay, so what makes the cake appeasing to the eye? The type of decoration on the outside right? And then it’s time to eat it.
God is the flour and the fullness of the cake – Jesus and the Holy Spirit is the ingredients –
And the Word of God being taught is the decorations on the cake.
It takes the flour and the rest if the ingredients to make the cake whole and to taste like anything, and without God – there would be no Jesus or Holy Spirit to make up the mix that makes the cake edible, and without the decorations the cake would not be appealing to the human eye at all.
Do you get where I am going with this? Okay
God has to place someone in position to speak His Word and to teach His Word, so that people can grow in it. The initial contact for that growth to take place is to seek God and then from there who God uses to get His word to the people and then once that takes place and understanding starts to form then the Holy Spirit can come in and give a deeper understanding to what that person is learning. But, first before any of this molding and forming can start to take place that person(s) must Confess Jesus is Lord ( Rom 10:9) because (1 Cor, 2:14 , Rom 8:7).
Once you start to grow and gain better insight on how to feed yourself by getting in the Word of God on your own, and doing your own study, and allowing the Holy Spirit to enlighten you by talking to you in a way to help you understand, then and only then will you be able to stand on your own and learn how to use God’s Word as your armour against your enemy Satan and learn also how you are supposed to live in this world.
Believe it or not it is so much bigger than getting the /word and gaining understanding. What’s even bigger than that is learning how to hold on to it and not allowing it to be stolen from you by the devil ( your enemy) what you have already learned. (Matt. 13:3-9 Mark 4:3-9 Lk 8:4-8)
The Word of God in your life must become that anchor that foundation that can not be moved or touched by any outside force including your friends and in many cases your family. The Word has got to be so deep-rooted in you that nothing else matters because Spiritual growth comes from the Word. (1 Peter 2:1-2 )
So yes, rightfully so we all start out as infants (babes) but we can not remain in that position, we have to grow by getting weaned off the milk with the help of the Holy Spirit and be moved into maturity in the Word of God where you are able to consume meat that can be chewed on.
(Heb 5:13-14 1Cor. 3:2 Eph. 4:14 )
We must remember also that without love we can not grow, and to not walk in love is to walk in darkness and live in death. ( 1 John 2:6-11 2 John 3:14-15 )
So please, no matter what forgive others so it does not stunt your growth in God.
Be Blessed……………
