Just because you say it, doesn’t make it right. The only right thing I know is the Word of God.
People say things like ” money is the root to all evil” actually been hearing it all my life until I was mature in the word of God to know that it went nothing like that but like this …..1 Tim. 6:10 ( For the love of money is a root of all kinds of
evils, it is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with pangs)
Paul wrote this but why? And, to whom did he write it?
He wrote it to Timothy. Paul is exhorting Timothy regarding the need to “teach and urge these things” to his congregation…..Paul then warns Timothy about false teachers who will seek to bend and pervert the content of sound doctrine for their own greedy gain. Paul was warning and telling Timothy what he’d face…This is still very much-needed today…
Having the love of money will be where we’ll find ” all kinds of evil”. He wasn’t saying that money is evil but what lies behind loving money is where the issues come about, there is nothing wrong with money, in and of itself, or the possession of money.
However, when money starts to control us, that’s when trouble begins. when you start idolizing it and viewing it as a top priority and thinking about how to gain more and more of it. That is where the sin begins.
Where is your heart when it comes to money? Well, this is where you will find out if it has crossed over to sin. He is simply saying watch your thoughts and love for it.
If you are constantly thinking about what you can get from it where man is concerned and not God, is where the problems loom. When your hopes are pinned to it and the pursuit of pleasures and trust to what human resources can offer you because of it “yeah, it’s a problem”. Your solution is as simple as this “REPENT” (Acts. 3:19)
I got another one for you, what about this one! “””The Lord works in mysterious ways.” Really? God’s ways are only mysterious to those that do not know Him. People could have even gotten this statement from ( Rom. 11:43 ) If you know God and is in His presence every day, if you take all of your concerns to Him, if He is numeral Uno in your life, why do you think He would keep you in the dark about what is important for you to know, or anything that is beneficial for your growth or walk?. No, God is not going to let you know everything all at one time, but if it is something that you are inquisitive about concerning Him, Jesus or the Holy Spirit why do you think He will leave you in the dark about them? ( Who are 3 in 1 ) Most, if not all of the time He will lead you to the Word and other times He will speak to you Himself ( if you are at that level of understanding).
And, yes I know that in the Word of God it states in
Isaiah 55:8-9 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
However, this says nothing about His ways being mysterious…
I have another one for you….”God Helps Those Who Help Themselves”. Didn’t this come from Ben Franklin?
If a man can help themselves, why would we need Jesus? Why would we need Grace?
Come on! And the list goes on and on. I suggest you study to show ( shew)yourself approved, but don’t be surprised when you find none of the quotes I’m going to quote at the bottom in the bible. I challenge you though, to find out what the true saying is ( if any) in the Word.
: Cleanliness Is Close To Godliness (Lord forbid you got a stench, or you’re a messy person)
:Spare the rod, spoil the child(read Prov.13:24 & 22:15)
: Pride goes before a fall { read Prov. 16:18 )where people originally got the saying but it’s not quite right because the scripture says, Pride goes before destruction and a haughty Spirit before a fall. So, isn’t this saying that destruction is the end result to pride?
: This Too Shall Pass ( let me know when you find it)
I pray that this will bless you to gain knowledge and understanding. We all have to start somewhere.
Be Blessed….
