What Does Faith Mean To You?

FAITH…..
can you tell me what that word means to you when you hear it?

Yes, we all know the go to scriptures concerning faith like ( Heb 11:1 – Rom 10:16 ) and countless others as we should, but besides knowing these scriptures what is Faith to you in your every day life?

We also know that Faith is a Gift ( Eph. 2:8)and Faithfulness is a Fruit ( Gal. 5:23) All in all, it’s all given to us by the Father.

I guess I pose this question for the simple fact that everytime my husband or myself minister to someone for whatever reason or for no reason at all we ask them if they are believers, and the first thing that comes out of their mouth is ” I have faith or I believe”, but can’t give a description of their faith and what it means to them…. I’m sorry but there’s something wrong with that……

For the longest time I’ve tried to figure out why that was always a person’s first response without knowledge….. until God revealed it to me, that those we come upon dont know the difference between Faith, Belief, and having a relationship with Him in that faith…. somehow they separate it and you can’t.

How though? How can you separate having Faith and being in a relationship with God? How? Don’t they both go hand In hand?

Growing in faith requires believing in God and maintaining a close relationship with Him, but sorry to say many people don’t have the faith described in the Bible because they do not believe or practice what Jesus said in His word, “If you love Me, keep My commandments” ( Yes, this is very important) to keep…. in order to have the true God kind of Faith.

The danger of that is our faith will die if we neglect not living a life of obedience to God.
Living a life of Faith requires what most people don’t want to indulge in and that is obedience,prayer, Bible study,meditation and humbling obedience to God, which strengthens our faith, and most of us can’t even do that.

We have to know that Faith is a choice, a choice to believe
In something with no proof.
Faith is believing beyond the point of Reality-
Faith is seeing something that no one else sees-
Faith is knowing what you ask for is there in the Spiritual real when you cannot see it In the Natural realm-
Faith is standing on a rock that looks like a mountain-
Faith is believing something is there that’s not visible to others and you keep on talking about it….others can’t see it but you can…..That’s Faith!!!!

Yes, many people “believe” Jesus Christ exist and that He is the Savior of the world, but that’s not faith as the bible describes, that’s just mental assent ( believing in your mind but not in your heart) The Bible says demons “believe” in this way (James 2:19).

faith” is very different. It goes beyond mental acceptance of the facts,
Faith is trust……
