I’ve heard people say a time or two in my life that ” if my spouse is saved then I am also “….but where does it say that in the bibile?
This is why it is so important for people to read the bible and ask God for clarity and understanding because sometimes people want to take bits and pieces of scripture out of His word and make it benefit them, instead of reading it in full.
If you read Acts chapter 16 ( read the entire chapter)
You will see from verse 29 – 33 the reason those words were said, and further down in scripture what took place and amongst whom…. So, no it was not just the jailer that was there in the presence of Paul and Silas that got saved and heard the word preached to them but the jailers entire family as well.
They all had to welcome Jesus into their own individual lives……They all had to hear the truth to get saved not just the jailer….They all had to believe what was being spoken….
Getting saved is a personal thing between you and God, not you God and someone else…… Your relationship is your relationship, #personal……
Those who have a personal relationship with God includes Him in their daily lives ( daily,not only in hard times)……
They pray( talk ) to Him, they read His word, they meditate on verses that penetrates their heart….They want to get to know Him for themselves not from someone elses relationship but through their own….
Those who have a personal relationship with God pray for wisdom (James 1:5), He will give you His wisdom in every situation…….
Those who have a personal relationship take their requests to Him, “asking in Jesus name” (John 15:16). It is in Jesus name that gets Gods attention and helps us in times of trouble….. (Romans 5:8), Jesus and His shed blood is the One who bridged the gap between us and God.
The Holy Spirit became available to all of us who earnestly seeked to receive Him…. He’s the One who lives in the believers heart and never leaves….
He’s the One who counsels us, teaches us, leads us, and shows us the truth in every situation….
And, He is the One that changes our hearts to become more and more like His….. Now that’s something to celebrate about I’d say……wouldn’t you?
