What does your love walk look like?
What is it to live, walk, and speak Love?
What is the main purpose behind it? Or, should I say who….
Developing a Love walk is not a hard thing and it should already be in you, because you have Him already on the inside you. (being born again you should)
John 13:35
Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”
The same love He has within Him is the same love that He places in you the day you confessed Jesus as Lord of your life.
1 John 4:12 says, “If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and His love is perfected in us.
1 John 4:8…”God is love”.
It’s His nature to love: We are to imitate His love that was placed on the inside of us for others, and this kind of love should not be hard why? because it wasn’t for Him…..
Romans 5:8 – “But God commends His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
when you received God’s Spirit, He put His love into your heart:
Romans 5:5 …”God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”
Living a life commanded by the love of God is the only thing that opens you up to walk in the Spirit, and to live in the blessing and in the power of God!
However, even though our spirits are made new when we are born again, our minds are not – they still need to be renewed daily, by the Word of God.
We have to be willing at some point just to “open our hearts” and receive it, receive the change, because when our hearts are hardened – pride, cynicism, anger, selfishness and unbelief develops and most of the time this is happening when you’re not even conscious of it.
It will only be able to take the work of God to soften it and to heal it from all the rejection and other things it’s endured to come to this state, but trust me, God can do it……and most of all He wants to do it.
You can’t go anywhere spiritually, or better yet in your relationships until you get your love walk right in the sight of God. And, this is the reason for this scripture👇
John 13:34-35-“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, just like I have loved you; that you also love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
Please know this ” that what the love of God touches cannot remain the same”.
So, what is it to walk in Love and how do you do it?
Let’s first start off by thinking well of others;
Philippians 4:8
“Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things.”
Speaking well of others;
James 5:9
Don’t grumble against one another, brothers and sisters, or you will be judged. The Judge is standing at the door!
Speaking well to others;
Ephesians 4:29
Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
Praying for others and looking for opportunities to do good;
Luke 6:27-28
“But I tell you who hear: love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you.”
Serve others with love because otherwise it doesn’t matter
1 Corinthians 16:14
Let all that you do be done in love.
Did you know that 1Cor. 13 is considered “the love chapter”?
Love endures with patience and serenity, love is kind and thoughtful, and is not jealous or envious; love does not brag and is not proud or arrogant. It is not rude; it is not self-seeking, it is not provoked [nor overly sensitive and easily angered]; it does not take into account a wrong endured. It does not rejoice at injustice, but rejoices with the truth [when right and truth prevail]. Love bears all things [regardless of what comes], believes all things [looking for the best in each one], hopes all things [remaining steadfast during difficult times], endures all things [without weakening].
Love never fails [it never fades nor ends
There’s a special word for the God-kind of love – “Agape” ( A – Gop – A )
The biggest lesson you’ll learn on your Love Walk is it’s not a game of did I pass it today or not, but it’s a Walk that is everyday, every second, and every hour of your life that not only has to be pleasing to God, but also under examination from yourself, and allowing the Holy Spirit to work on your heart to make that walk more perfected each and everyday….because it will get tested, but “how will you respond in that test”.
Be Blessed…..
