What’s the one thing every Born Again Believer needs in this Earth, to get things done God’s way? Which also includes other needed operations that brings about a clearer picture?
If you said Knowledge….with a side of Wisdom…. and a topping of spiritual understanding, then you’re correct…..
The gift of knowledge is the spiritual ability to be able to bring forth a specific word of wisdom in a given situation, which (intel’s) understanding all of what was just said.
(Ecclesiastes 1:18) For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow. Why did Solomon say this? That wisdom was like having grief and knowledge like sorrow?
Solomon came to understand that the more he learned in knowledge the more understanding was shed with wisdom, and along with that wisdom there wasn’t always pleasantries..
Remember, Solomon was the wisest man alive, and with that wisdom also came great privileges which brought along great responsibilities, and added burdens.
As he was gifted with the ability to speak with wisdom and understanding concerning a situation with truth that came directly from the Holy Spirit – Solomon also realized that with that great blessing of wisdom it also had a downside, which never actually brought him the kind of inner peace and satisfaction that he craved.
Even with all his wealth, Wisdom, and understanding, it didn’t make him any happier…..
What we need to understand is this… God gives us Spiritual Gifts for a reason, He has given each believer a spiritual gift that He wants us to use for His Glory, so we can be changed by them, as well as change others.
Spiritual Gifts are for strengthening others ( not as in bodily strength, but strength of faith)
(1 Thessalonians 3:2) And we sent Timothy, our brother and God’s servant in [spreading] the good news (the Gospel) of Christ, to strengthen and establish and to exhort and comfort and encourage you in your faith.
Spiritual Gifts are given to you and me, for others.
They’re not given to be hoarded, or because you feel like having one.
They’re not given for self-promotion or self-profiting. (1 Corinthians 12:7 & 14:12, 26).
Spiritual Gifts no matter which ones, are available to every Born Again Believer.
The Bible helps us to see that gifts, ministries, and workings of the Spirit are given to us for the benefit of others… the church body, and edification… not for self. ( 1 Corinthians 14)
In (1 Corinthians 14:1) we are told to earnestly desire the gifts, however it’s up to the Holy Spirit who chooses, as to when, and to through whom these gifts operate.
So, let’s not be given a gift and do nothing with it, because that’s actually useless…unless you make a conscious decision to utilize it.
Just one thing to know and that is this…..without Gods wisdom attached to knowledge, or any gift at all, it does you absolutely no good.
When God gives His knowledge to anyone you can best believe His wisdom will be right there with it….
True wisdom comes from only one source – and that is God. Which also, includes “knowledge and understanding” – you can’t operate one from the other.
(Proverbs 2:6,10) For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.
Please take note that there is a natural wisdom, a natural understanding and a natural knowledge, and there is a spiritual wisdom, spiritual understanding and spiritual knowledge as well.
We’re not talking about the worldly knowledge you gain from school, college, street, or man – we’re talking about the spiritual knowledge of God that can only come from Him.
Please don’t get me wrong, school and college are needed for this world, but there’s more to your life here in this earth than worldly education.
What about Kingdom education? Yeah, it exists… The God that created you and me has His ways of doing things and order that He’d (like us) His creation to operate from, to learn, to follow, gain understanding about, and adhere to.
(Isaiah 55:8) “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the LORD. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.
As you see today, worldly education can only get you so far, if anywhere at all.
Look at all of those that spend thousands of dollars on their child’s education, for them to graduate, and can’t even manage to get a job in the area in which they gained all their worldly knowledge….
That’s why we as God’s creation need to know that it’s so much more deeper than having WORLDLY wisdom – knowledge & understanding.
You see knowledge is given to ( change your way of thinking) but what good is it without Wisdom to guide that knowledge, ( think about that).
Read Proverbs 2: 1 -10
(Daniel 2:21)
He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding. He reveals deep and secret things;
(Ephesians 1:17,18)
that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened;
Those scriptures above tell us that all things, including spiritual knowledge and wisdom, comes directly from God the Father.
And, not only that, but He actually wants to give us His knowledge & Wisdom for His Glory .
He’s our Father, the One who created us, and He wants to reveal great, deep, and mighty things to us related to the Kingdom.
Yes! those deep and secret things that the non believers has no access to.
God won’t only give us His knowledge, but He’ll also make sure to give us the understanding of that knowledge, and the wisdom to be able to actually use it!
Truthfully the only way you’ll be able to grow spiritually in knowledge or any other gift is by reading, studying, and understanding the Word of God for yourself.
There’s truly no other way.(2 Timothy 2:15)Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Can we come to an agreement that – Knowledge is facts, Understanding is having the ability to lift the meaning out of the facts….And, Wisdom is knowing what to do next??
