Okay, so let’s take a minute to examine this scripture and pick it apart, and see what the Holy Spirit has to say.
(1 Corinthians 13:13) And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
Does anyone know why God says that Love (Charity) is above Faith and Hope?
Do you want to know why LOVE is the greatest??
Love is the greatest of the three, as well as the greatest commandment, because love is the image of God….God is love….. Its who He is!! (1 John 4:7-8) Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
Now, for Faith… faith is the receiving factor to our walk as a Believer. Without faith it is impossible to please the Father.(Heb.11:6)And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
And, for Hope…hope is what we need to be able to stand anchored in His promises and expect (a) future, for what we have our faith in…(Hebrews 6:19)
This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.
Now as you can see, it all goes hand and hand. It’s impossible to have one without the other and it be fitting…. You can’t have hope without faith, and you can’t have faith without love. Period!!!
They all help each other out, and benefits one another.
Okay so now that we have an understanding on that, lets go back for a moment, back to the ( love) portion real quick… And, so on..
Honestly, what this shows me is that, God’s love in us is the only reason we are seen fit for Heaven.
It’s what makes us resemble Him…
Having His (love) on the inside of us does only one thing, and that is, it permeates to the outside of us, so that others can see it in us, and it can be passed on( 1John 4:12)No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us.
As for ( faith ) it’s the foundation, the bedrock, the home base, for the Believers everything!! WHY…because without it, it’s impossible to please the Father…(Heb. 11:6)
And for ( hope ) hope holds it all down. It’s the expectation we need to keep it all going..(Psalms 25:5)
Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you.
So, let’s put it like this…
God’s (love) allows us to remain open and to be seen as an example of who He is..
While (faith) is what we need to remain in that connection we have to God, while showing others how to do the faith walk without giving up.
And, (hope) is that which keeps us moving forward in it all…It sustains us!! It keeps us stable.
Listen, fact of the matter is this; Paul was letting the Corinthians ( in Chpt.13) know, that regardless of your gifts, if you don’t have ( love) those gifts your speaking about don’t matter anyway, because it’s only by ( love ) they operate.
And it’s that love, that is what gives us hope!
and, fuels our faith. Because, how can you have faith and hope without love?
Your life as a Believer should radiate and ooze love!
(John 13:35 )By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
The more you love who you are in Christ, the more you will be able to love the people around you.
(Matthew 22:36-39)
Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
To love others well, we must first learn to love God, and also ourselves.
It’s only because of His love on the inside of us that empowers us to love like Him. As (1 John 4:19) says, “We love Him because He first loved us.”
So, that means our spirit must eat just as much as our bodies do…And, that means that our minds must stay renewed to His Word, in His character, and in His way of doing things, because this is the only way to keep putting our bodies and its fleshly desires under submission.
And by doing this it helps us make better choices for self, and everyone else around us.
The Love of God on the inside of us is a sign to those that love God.
That’s why this Scripture should becomes your new nature….
(1 Corinthians 13:4-8 )
Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily. It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God’s love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong]. It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail. Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening]. Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end].
Before closing out, there’s one more thing you need to know…
And that is on that day, when we come face to face with the Father, our Love will be enhanced so much greater than it is now..So In order to love how God loves now in this Earth as Jesus did, we must spend time in His presence.
And, on that day of being in His presence, our faith will become less important, and our hope will be completely fulfilled, because in His presence is where we will always be!!
Now that’s something to shout Hallelujah!! about. Wouldn’t you say??
Be Blessed….
