What do you know, if anything, about Generational Curses & Cycles?
Let’s first read their differences and move on from there.
The difference between a generational cycle and a generational curse.
A curse is the actually issue such as the drugs, alcoholism, lust, cheating, poverty etc.
A cycle is the repetitiveness of the curse. It happens over and over again down the family line. And develops because of a curse.

Okay, so as we just read, Generational Cycles stem from Generational Curses..
Okay, even though cycles stem from curses, I want to start with ”Generational Cycles” first. Is that ok?
When your in a Generational Cycle you normally can’t see the cycle your in. And that’s only because it’s been a part of your norm for so long…
Generational Cycles, one way or another exist in every family unless it gets broken by someone in that family line, like a parent, that parents child, a niece, or nephew.
One of the reasons why cycles are generational is because no one sees it as a cycle. And, no one cares to do the work to break it even if the cycle is seen.
Because Generational Cycles has been around in families for a very long time, they’re not actually that easy to break..
Breaking a cycle like this one has to be done intentionally.
All that means is that you have to ( on purpose) do the total opposite of what you’ve seen done all your life. Because if you don’t you’ll subconsciously do the same thing, without knowing it.
So, to the one who refuses to recognize it, and break it, unfortunately is also setting in motion, the sowing and reaping of that sinful, passed down behavior.
For instance….If you know that drug abuse runs (long) in your family line, and in order to break that cycle in your own family, you must decide to avoid drugs at all cost. ALL!
And you can do so, with Gods help of course(Phili.4:13)I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.
Did you know … OTC medicines, like (Tylenol & Advil)can become addictive as well..
It may sound funny, because it’s not considered a narcotic or a street drug, but people pop over the counter medication several times a day, every day, like it’s part of their meal plan…. ( Check This Site Out)👇
The only way you’re going to be able to break a Generational Cycle or Curse, is to renew your mindset…..
And!!! Quit thinking that because “your mom did something a certain way in y’all family, and her mom did it the same way in her family, mean that you have to continue to do it that way for yours as well…
No! Stop!! Because all it is, is a cycle that never gets broken…
And!! Can someone please tell me why, the talk of (curses) and (cycles) is only geared towards the black community, and no other ethnic groups?
Could it be because it’s spoken about more frequently in the Black American culture, than any other?
Or, can it be that no other race believes that Generational Curses & Cycles run in their families?
I don’t quite know where that rumor came from, about only the black community living by this stigma, but what I do know, is that it’s not a marginalized “race stigma” because this sort of bondage affects all for sure.
Now, as for Generational Curses. This is something that stems all the way back from Bible days(Cycles do too though ).
If you’ve ever seen or heard about a history of (Incest, Divorce,[ In Family Molestation], Poverty, Anger, Disrespect towards parents, (or) any other unGodly patterns in your family. It’s pretty likely you’ve been living under a Generational Curse.
A system of Generational Curses and reoccurring cycles stem from your “parents – parents, ” that’s never got broken.
The Bible says that these curses are tied to the choices people make.
Moses explains what God said, to the children of Israel In (Exodus 34:7) I lavish unfailing love to a thousand generations. I forgive iniquity, rebellion, and sin. But I do not excuse the guilty. I lay the sins of the parents upon their children and grandchildren; the entire family is affected— even children in the third and fourth generations.”
(Author Craig Brian Larson) breaks it all the way down this way(partially)God is saying: I only forgive the iniquity and transgression and sin of those who come to Me in faith and repentance. But, for those who refuse to repent and continue in their sin, I will be perfectly just and will by no means clear them of guilt. In fact My justice is so precise that I will visit the iniquity of the, unrepentant sinners, not only on them but also on their descendants who walk in the ways of their sinful fathers and also blatantly disobey Me.
All it is, is the negative cycle of Sinful, Behavioral Patterns, Practices, Addictions, and Mind-Sets that’s been passed down from one generation to the next, due to rebellion against God.
But!! There is HOPE!
And, that hope is in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior!! (Psalms 33:20)
We put our hope in the Lord. He is our help and our shield.
Sorry to inform you, but He is the only true way you can break a curse or cycle from off, and out of your life, once and for good
Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.
Believe it or not, we all have family traits that has gotten passed down, whether in the immediate family or family way down the line, but you don’t have to succumb to it just because you were born into it (Prov.26:2)Like a sparrow in its flitting, like a swallow in its flying, So a curse without cause does not come to rest. You can choose to be different!
Any type of Generational Curse is Satan illustrated (Galatians 6:8)Those who plant only for their own benefit will harvest devastation from their selfishness, but those who plant for the benefit of the Spirit will harvest eternal life from the Spirit.
But! It’s not until you are Born Again and drafted into your new family of (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) that those family curses fall off to never rise its ugly head again…
And, the good news is, that it can be broken!
Whether Curse or Cycle running through your family, just know that the bloodline of Jesus Christ is so much more powerful! That it can break any and every curse or cycle attached to you.(1 Peter 1:18-19) For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And it was not paid with mere gold or silver, which lose their value. It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God.
Yep, that one of a kind bloodline, that has nothing but love, confidence, hope, grace, mercy, abundance, gifts, and eternal salvation connected to it….
There is power in His Blood, and it will rid (any) and (all) things you don’t want attached to you. But, how will you know that, if you don’t spend one on one time with Him, in His Word to find out for yourself?(2 Timothy 2:15)Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
When we are in Christ, mind renewed, and set free…All yokes, generational curses, cycles and bondages are broken from your life, because Satan no longer has rule and reign over you…
And yes, like I said earlier, Satan is the reason for any and all Generational Curses…
Okay, now that the yoke has been destroyed! (Isaiah 10:27)
In that day their burden will be lifted from your shoulders, their yoke from your neck; the yoke will be broken because you have grown so fat.
The blood of Jesus is here to serve you your freedom! Freedom in Him that is!!(Galatians 5:1)So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law.
The precious blood of Jesus will wash all of what use to be connected to you totally away!! No longer are you connected to that old bloodline you were first born into this World through!!(2 Corinthians 5:17)Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
And, now it’s time for you to Choose to begin a new (Blueprint) for your family in Jesus!! While knowing that when your heart belongs to Him, no generational curse or cycle can ever attach to you, but will be broken! (Ezekiel 36:26) A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
