If you have trust issues?(Psalms 51:10)Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
If you find it hard to trust God, His Word?(Psalms 33:4)For the word of the Lord holds true, and we can trust everything he does.
Knowing Where the distrust stems from?( 2 Corinthians 4:4)Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.
As a Believer how do you break free from it?(Proverbs 3:5-6)Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.
Let’s face it……Trust “period”!!! is not an easy thing to gain from people because of their skepticism..
But!! why does it seem like trusting in God is a much easier thing to lose, when it comes to believer’s who claim they’ve been walking with Him for years??
Personally, I’ve known far to many people who has turned their backs on God, and went back to the ways of the world…(Luke 9:62)But Jesus said to him, “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back [to the things left behind] is fit for the kingdom of God.”
I have seen it time and time again, when things don’t go (their) way, or God didn’t answer their prayers the way (they) wanted Him to… they were quick to throw in the towel with their relationship, and start to find it hard to trust Him, because He allowed things to go totally different than they had hoped for… and that was the reason for the doubt, the lack of trust, the lies from the devil which left the door open for him to come right on in? (1Peter 5:8)Be sober-minded and alert. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
So, is it fair for me to say, the reason why trust is so hard to gain and much easier to lose, is because it was never there in the first place??Remember, Trust is a choice…
So, that leads me to another question….how full is your trust bank?
Trusting God is simply believing that He can, and that He will, do what He promised… And that He loves you. ( Romans 4:21)being absolutely convinced that God would do what he had promised.
Trusting God means that you have confidence in His certainty (Luke 1:4)that you may have certainty concerning the things you have been taught.
Trusting God means that you have confidence in His character (1 John 4:8)Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.
Trusting God means that you have confidence in His strength (Psalms 46:1)God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.
Trusting God means that you have confidence in His promises (Jeremiah 17:7)“But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence.
Trusting God also says that you have confidence in His infallibility, His Word, His power, and His authority!!
The Word of God does say, He cannot lie, and that He always keeps His promises.(Numbers 23:19)God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?
Trusting in God means that you believe what the Word of God says about Him, His Son, and the Holy Spirit…(1 John 5:6)And Jesus Christ was revealed as God’s Son by his baptism in water and by shedding his blood on the cross—not by water only, but by water and blood. And the Spirit, who is truth, confirms it with his testimony.
Just know that trusting God is more than a feeling….If you are not totally committed to God and you don’t walk in His discernment…….just know that feelings change, they are fickle, very swayable and not the best to rely on…they can change at the drop of a hat!!
Remember what I said earlier trust is a choice! even when your feelings or circumstances would have you believe something different. (Psalm 31:14)But I trusted in thee, O Lord: I said, Thou art my God.
Feelings change, but He does not!!He is the same yesterday, today and forever more(Hebrews 13:8)
Trusting God is all about ignoring your feelings, believing His Word, and remaining obedient, even when it’s difficult….
When you trust God, you don’t have to look for security in other things….you look to Him and His way of doing things to hold you securely in place, in every difficult situation or circumstance.(Proverbs 3:26)for the Lord is your security. He will keep your foot from being caught in a trap.
To be honest, a lot of people that say they trust God, only say that because it’s the (quote on quote) Christian thing to say.
What I mean by that is this…..people say, I TRUST GOD !!with attitude and boldness, only when there is something to see in the physical like; their bank account , their stock market numbers or what the Government can do for them, more than their trust in God and His Word.(Matthew 6:19-21)“Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.
Saying “I Trust God” today is one of those “Christian-ese” phrases that’s thrown around so loosely, and comes with a lot of lip service and actions that show otherwise!
Trusting God is what we do as Believers, because we have faith. It draws us!!(Hebrews 7:19)For the law never made anything perfect. But now we have confidence in a better hope, through which we draw near to God.
Trusting God (for real) is trusting Him 100 percent of the time….. not 60 percent sometimes and then 40 percent of the other you’re trusting something else…Oh’ No!! It’s you all in, all the time, in every area…..and in whatever situation or circumstance!!
Let’s take a minute to focus on this scripture right here (Isaiah 26:3)You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You. What does this mean???
That means you can enjoy a state of perfect peace as long as your mind is stayed on Him and not your circumstances, and that you trust him to help you no matter what……
Lets not get Worldly peace and Godly peace mixed up and confused……they are totally different!!
It’s only God who can provide complete and lasting peace. God, who ALONE is perfect…. is the only reliable and dependable source of perfect peace. He has openly offered this peace,(perfect peace) to all who will decide to trust Him to provide it.
I think it also needs to be known, that this type of peace can only come ( through) One Source and that source is His Son Jesus Christ!! He is our connecting factor to get to the Father(1 John 5:20)We know that Jesus Christ the Son of God has come and has shown us the true God. And because of Jesus, we now belong to the true God who gives eternal life.
Jesus is the only reason why God’s peace is available to all. And He came to preach it (Ephesians 2:16-18)On the cross Christ did away with our hatred for each other. He also made peace between us and God by uniting Jews and Gentiles in one body. Christ came and preached peace to you Gentiles, who were far from God, and peace to us Jews, who were near God. And because of Christ, all of us can come to the Father by the same Spirit.
See, whenever your mind (is not) stayed on Him, it could only be because you don’t trust Him, you don’t have confidence in Him, you’re not relying on Him, and definitely not leaning on Him. Which means your mind is somewhere else!(Philippians 4:8)And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.
Your test of trust in God, will surely show up in those difficult, uncertain times. And there is where you’ll be shown, who or what you’re trusting in most( God, Yourself or Worldly Government) oh, best believe, it will show up!!
Be Blessed….
