Question? What do you think about when you hear or read this scripture(Isaiah 55:8-9)“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Well, for me, I used to see this scripture as a disadvantage.
But, as I read it and pondered upon it, I said no, that can’t be true, for the simple fact He said, “NO good thing will I withhold” (Psalms 84:11) For the LORD God is a sun and a shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
So, no! That can’t be!!
As I studied more on this scripture, I said, I have to gain an understanding about what He is really saying here.
I knew that my way of thinking towards this scripture, and me seeing it as being a disadvantage or a limitation, had to be (a wrong way of thinking) because if it wasn’t….. it would have never spoken of (us) having the mind of Christ, as it speaks about in (1 Corinthians 2:16) For, “Who can know the LORD’s thoughts? Who knows enough to teach him?” But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ.
So, as I allowed the Holy Spirit to teach me some insight into that scripture, He brought to my attention…. “Have you ever thought about the scripture this way…. “That He is inviting you to come up?”
To come up, in your thoughts….Yes, to His way of thinking
To come up, in your ways….Yes, of more love and compassion (Psalm 145:8-9)The Lord is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy. The Lord is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.
Think about it like that….
God is never looking to take away from you and me,, but to always bring us higher!!(Revelation 4:1)After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.
Wow! That was the light I was looking for! That light that only He could help me see! Thank you Holy Spirit!!(John 16:13)When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future.
He just wants us to come up higher….
God wants all who reads His Word, to read it with understanding, to read it in its correct manner, and 100% of the time, it will be the Holy Spirit revealing it the way He meant it to be received (Romans 5:5)and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
There’s no better way to learn, than to study to shew yourself approved(2 Timothy 2:15)Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
So yes, He’s calling us all to Come up….come up, to teach someone else(2 Timothy 2:2)You have heard me teach things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses. Now teach these truths to other trustworthy people who will be able to pass them on to others.
Come up, by showing others how to walk in My love. Imitate Me He says!(Ephesians 5:2) Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God.
Come up, by showing others how to walk in My character(Ezekiel 36:27) And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.(Psalm 103:8) The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.
Come up, by being a demonstration to others by operating in My mindset, by the words you speak out of your mouth…(Psalms 19:14)Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer.
Come up, by allowing others to see how they are supposed to walk in their God given authority given to you and Me on the Earth(Luke 10:19)Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you.
Wouldn’t you say it’s time to come up!
