Common Sense...

FACTS CONCERNING THE USE OF COMMON SENSE….

Can we agree that common sense is a part of our earthly makeup?

Common sense is a basic human ability to perceive, understand and judge things or ideas, given to all people. It’s just ordinary good sense, and it keeps us from doing foolish or hurtful things.

Woo, did God think of it all….He knew that we would be born into a sinful world disconnected from Him.

And, He knew that until we got reconnected with Him through Jesus Christ, and later led by the Holy Spirit, we had to be able to make the best decisions in our own human finite mind…So, He gave us common sense.

In the OT days, before Christ, God did all the dealings with people through, priests and prophets…..And, some directly….

The people today who choose to still operate solely in common sense say,  “you have to try and understand everything without the use of faith.”

But when you have Jesus, faith, love and the peace of God, you don’t have to understand everything, you just have to trust God and walk in divine faith, and that faith will show you the way.

Common sense tells you to be worried if you lose your job, but the Word of God says in(Proverbs 3:5‭-‬6) [to] Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

No one can depend on common sense when it comes to walking with God, because He does not operate in common sense. You have to walk with Him in faith(Hebrews 11:6)But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

And ( FYI) Spiritual Wisdom is not Common Sense! (James 1:5)If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

Spiritual wisdom is rooted in our knowledge of God (Ephesians 1:17).That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him

Any use of common sense dealing with God, will be subject to the scrutiny of God’s Word.(Proverbs 2:6)For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

Those of you who depend on common sense more than Wisdom by Faith will most likely get offended or confused at the higher ways of God, which will  then hinder or eliminate God’s divine help for you, because you don’t agree with it (1Corinthians 2:14)But people who aren’t spiritual can’t receive these truths from God’s Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can’t understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means.

See, this is why you have to tread this rope very lightly when it comes to (common sense). Because anyone who depends on their use of common sense, more than their God given wisdom by faith, and  is looking for instruction as to what to do, they’ll most likely, always go with the use of common sense, and bypass their God given wisdom by faith, because that’s what they’ve always relied and leaned on more.(2 Corinthians 5:7) For we walk by faith, not by sight.

Especially if the word of faith, in God’s Word, doesn’t agree with their decision…And, that to them can become very costly Spirituality….( Why Costly)? because they are not living in the Divine Will of God, and they are okay with that(2 Timothy 3:16-17)All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.

They think they know a better way, and can make better decisions for themselves(Jeremiah 29:11)For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Too many people have gotten into trouble by depending on common sense rather than on Spiritual leadership by wisdom in faith…..Proverbs 4:12 There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.

A man’s judgment based off of common sense  (definitely cannot) be depended upon to discern the Spiritual things of God…because Spiritual things are spiritually discerned(1 Corinthians 2:10)But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

Remember, It doesn’t make a decision right,  because it makes common sense?

Yes! God gave us common sense, like I said earlier, and it was good to have when Jesus, Spiritual Wisdom, Faith, and the Holy Spirit was not in operation, but now that you know, (without faith it’s impossible to please God) why walk in anything else!!(Heb 11:6)

When decisions are being made in accordance with the principles of God’s Word, and Biblical truth, Gods Word will always take precedence over the use of common sense every single time!!

Remember that the next time you are faced with having to make a decision….

Be Blessed….
