Spiritual Famine Is Real...

There’s A Spiritual Famine Going On….

Just from the title, I know you’re probably like, “what is she talking about?”….

Well, I’m glad you asked….I’ll tell you what I’m not talking about….A food shortage…oh, no, what I’m speaking about is a Spiritual famine..A lack of God and His Word famine!!(Amos 8:11‭)“Oh yes, Judgment Day is coming!” These are the words of my Master God. “I’ll send a famine through the whole country. It won’t be food or water that’s lacking, but my Word.

Let’s understand what famine is; ( World )A famine is an acute episode of extreme hunger that results in excess mortality due to starvation or hunger-

(Spiritual)is an extreme spiritual malnutrition due to the lack of Jesus, Word, Prayer, Relationship-

A Spiritual famine is just as critical as having a food famine, because a Spiritual famine of God’s Word produces eternal consequences.

And the consequences are; Not having Jesus to connect with God… now, or for Eternity!(Proverbs 14:12)There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
Not having His Word… because a carnal man can’t understand Spiritual things!(1 Corinthians 2:14)But the natural [unbelieving] man does not accept the things [the teachings and revelations] of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness [absurd and illogical] to him; and he is incapable of understanding them, because they are spiritually discerned and appreciated, [and he is unqualified to judge spiritual matters]. And, not having a relationship…which means no Holy Spirit… because you don’t think it takes all that!(John 14:26)But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.

A Spiritual famine, is being without. So, it must feel like experiencing a death that occurs when someone you loved dies….because no one else can take the place of that loved one….

This famine isn’t just about being without God’s Word, but it’s also about being without Him!(John 1:1)In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.

And, who can replace God? Nothing and no one……There is nothing and no one, that can occupy that space in your heart like only God can.(1 Corinthians 8:6)But for us, There is one God, the Father, by whom all things were created, and for whom we live. And there is one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things were created, and through whom we live.

What must be understood is this! That our ONENESS with God and His Word is a Believer’s lifeline, a Believer’s food, and without it, we perish!(1 Thessalonians 2:13)And we also thank God continually for this, that when you received the word of God [concerning salvation] which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of [mere] men, but as it truly is, the word of God, which is effectually at work in you who believe [exercising its inherent, supernatural power in those of faith].

This world is looking so malnourished and underfed when it comes to God and His Word, and I must say, it’s heartbreaking…(Proverbs 29:18)Where there is no vision [no revelation of God and His word], the people are unrestrained; But happy and blessed is he who keeps the law [of God].

We’re in a generation that is famished and starving for truth, the Word of truth!A generation that’s dehydrated from a lack of water, the Living water!(John 6:35)Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.

You can just see the need for Jesus and the lack of Word and faith. To the point where all you see is a people, standing in the need of prayer, a people needing to experience a glimpse of hope….this world is filled with people thirsting for the One and Only thirst quencher, and His name is Jesus!(John 7:38)He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

The saddest part of it all though, is that this famine isn’t only amongst the people that run from the truth of God’s Word, but amongst those also, that call themselves Believer’s!

Yep! There are a lot of people who said, they loved God, but has lost their appetite for Him, and the truth of His Word.(Proverbs 26:11)A fool doing some stupid thing a second time is like a dog going back to its vomit.

And they try to find other things to replace Him with, “like” a false sense of believing that having a positive attitude will suffice and get the job done … or by joining an online course on (who knows what),taught by a motivational speaker to feel like, “at least they’re doing something!”

One might say famine is famine whether food related or Word related and that is just not true…

Spiritual famine, a lack of God’s Word, is viewed totally different from a physical famine for food.

For a physical famine, there is a lack of food, and mainly all you need to do is eat a few meals for your body to be fueled and satisfied.

But, for someone to face a Spiritual famine, it’s because of a lack of (Anything God).

Like, for those who once had a relationship with God and then backslid into what use to be, for whatever reason, and then later came back to God, knowing that they need Jesus and the Word of God.

To only realize it’s a lot harder trying to get back into the gist of things, after being out of His Will for so long.

They realize that, that once upon a time fire that was there, is no longer. And, they try to start off where they left off, but the only problem with that is this, the fire is out…..whatever (thrill of excitement) they once had before when indulging in the Word of God is no longer there! That burnout was real.

The Holy Spirit had been snuffed out, and laid to the side, buried under multiple layers of backslidden worldliness. And He now has to find His way through all of that rummage of a contaminated heart, worldly thinking and thoughts, foul mouth words, and all kinds of other foolishness, to be put back on top.( Acts 3:19)So repent [change your inner self—your old way of thinking, regret past sins] and return [to God—seek His purpose for your life], so that your sins may be wiped away [blotted out, completely erased], so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord [restoring you like a cool wind on a hot day]

When a Believer goes through a backsliding, burnout state like that, it’s often the cause of a self-dependent attitude that showed up and started running the show, that caused the Spiritual famine in the first place.(Proverbs 3:5‭-‬7)Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.

A self integrated position, that was allowed to show up and run things…..(Proverbs 4:23)Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.

All along while trying to be this, and that, to this person, and that person, and trying to do this, and that, with nothing else on your mind, but trying to get accolades along the way….

Yeah, it all probably felt good at the time, but it soon caught up to you and burned that candle all the way out!!

Allowing your self- dependent self, to be pulled in every which way but the right way, until (Boom)! God allowed it all to blow up! And, blow out!(Exodus 20:3)“You must not have any other god but me.

That false sense of reality blew right up in that face of yours…..Trying to be a man pleaser, while all along not acquiring any Holy Spirit feedback…(Jeremiah 29:13)If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.

Yep, that role of  self-dependency… they took upon themselves to create the role of (savior) for themselves, and everyone around them, rather than trusting God to accomplish His own Will for their lives.

They chose to carry everyone else’s need that had to be met on their back, as their own call to solve, rather than asking God to intervene with His wisdom and direction.(Jeremiah 33:3)Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

That’s normally what takes place when someone who’s serving in the Church suddenly realizes they don’t want to serve anymore….they got burned out… and don’t want to carry that load they put on themselves anymore, but now that they are too far invested in the hoopla of it all, they don’t want to look like a sellout by saying, “look this is too much”, so they roll out to never to be seen again. Which was the devils primary goal..

Their cause to help and to serve people was just a coverup, their main agenda, their (motives) were just to be seen as an important name around the Chhh-uuu-rrrr-ccc-hhh…..

So, what about those Sunday morning seat fillers…whats their excuse? Well, let’s be honest, it’s most likely their enjoyment of their sinning, that wins over God. And, the reason they backslide, is because it’s always been there…

The fact of the matter is this, that the appetite for God’s Word is so easily lost because it’s a matter of their heart.

What you fail to realize is that everything you deal with is a heart condition, and every issue you have stems from it.(Matthew 12:35)A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him.

Why is it, that it’s so easy for most Believer’s to be swayed by the ways of the world, always trying to keep one foot in the world and one foot in the kingdom? It’s called a heart condition! That’s why…it doesn’t fully belong to God!

And, sorry to inform you, but it will never work that way. You’re either all in for God and the kingdom, or you’re either all in for the world, it’s either or!(1 John 2:15)Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you.

So, come on! Move in closer to the truth of God’s mercy and grace, and run further away from the lies of religion, and legalism.(Romans 3:20)For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin.

All He wants to offer you is His love, friendship, and truth, through Jesus Christ His Son!! Because without access to His Word, we lack wisdom for life, and the experience of eternal life (now) in Christ.

Be Blessed….
