Okay guys, as we continue to explore our given authority I figured maybe we could approach (part 2) by way of another lens, the lens of Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection….
And, just in case you’re wondering what the resurrection of Christ has to do with Him leaving us His authority on earth, just read on.
But, before you do, can we all agree to the fact that it’s only because of His death, burial and resurrection, that we’ve been connected to something so awesome – His Anointing?
And also, that because of His death, burial and resurrection we have been not only connected to His authority, but reconnected to the Father!
Before moving on can we agree to that?
Listen the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus was no small deal. Because It also allowed us to be seated together with Him in heavenly places.(Ephesians 2:6)And He raised us up together with Him [when we believed], and seated us with Him in the heavenly places, [because we are] in Christ Jesus
And because of it, we now have a new life in Christ.(Galatians 2:20)My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
I know this is a different spin on things, but it’s beneficial… just pay attention!!
It was because of His death, burial and resurrection we no longer have to be slaves to sin, and no longer have to be bound to the ways of Satan. ( 2 Corinthians 5:17)“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”
Yeah, I know, you already know that, but for some reason people only zone into the resurrection part of Jesus’ act, when in case none of what He went through for us should be overlooked, definitely not what came before His resurrection. Which was the act of His brutal death, and separation from the Father, all while conquering death, hell and the grave for us, for 3 days and nights.(Matthew 12:40)For as Jonah was in the belly of the great fish for three days and three nights, so will the Son of Man be in the heart of the earth for three days and three nights.
Come on y’all, no one else could’ve survived all that He went through but Him. And, then to arise and still leave us with His authority to overcome in His name as well! Man I tell you, if that doesn’t speak love nothing ever will!(Mark 16:9)Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils.
And, because of that, this is what we should be saying, (Philippians 3:10)I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death.
And why? Because it was only due to His death, burial and resurrection we were able to be given this one of a kind authority. If you take away anything from reading this, don’t sleep on those facts….
I mean, just to have the understanding that when He died, we did too, when He rose, we did too, and when He was seated at God’s right hand, as Believers, so were we! Isn’t that enough to shout Hallelujah about!!
Okay, now after all that, check this out. The only way to receive from that finished work of Jesus Christ, you have to believe it happened and be Born Again..(John 3:3)Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.”

Let’s be honest, after hearing and knowing all that He went through and overcame for our freedom, freedom from Satan’s snares, and now being drafted into the inheritance of eternal life, and mainly the reconnection to the Father….. how and why would it even be a no, a hesitation, or an, “I’ll think about it,” why?
By all means, it was, His obedience to the Father that got us connected in the first place!(John 14:6)Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
That one of a kind connection, to where all of Jesus’ Power and Authority stemmed from, It stemmed from God! (Matthew 28:18)
God the Father, gave it to Jesus the Son, and Jesus, the Son & Head over the body, gave it to us, the body… (colossians 1:18)He is the head of his body, the church; he is the source of the body’s life. He is the first-born Son, who was raised from death, in order that he alone might have the first place in all things.
Jesus said to His disciples, “look, I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth, and I have given it to you…(Paraphrasing)(Luke 10:19)(Matthew 28:18)
So, when did God give Jesus all authority in Heaven and on Earth, you ask? He gave it to Him after His resurrection, and just before His return to heaven. (mentioned in Mat.28:18 and in Eph.1:20-23)
Hey check this out, because of that authority we can bind and loose, cast out devils, heal the sick, raise the dead, and speak in unknown tongues!…
Oh yeah, and let’s not forget about this, it’s given us the right to use His name, (without Him being here in the flesh) in ANY circumstance. And not just for casting out devils.
We have to look at this authority left to us the same way we saw it being used by Jesus when He was on earth…
We have been left with that same authority. Yep, the same authority to pray and see things manifest from the Spirit realm into the physical realm, like Jesus did…(Mark 11:24)Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
Jesus had authority here on earth when He was here, (for sure) but it wasn’t until His resurrection that He was given (ALL AUTHORITY) that made the difference for us. If He wasn’t given all authority, He wouldn’t have been able to leave us with it..
We have to stay mindful of that. That all the power behind your given authority comes from the Spiritual realm because God is a Spirit…(John 4:24)God is Spirit, and only by the power of his Spirit can people worship him as he really is.”
Wow, that authority is something else isn’t it!
Because of it, we can put our Angel’s to work, and they obey. They not only obey, but they wait to be commanded (Psalm 103:20)Bless the Lord, you His angels, You mighty ones who do His commandments, Obeying the voice of His word!
We have Angel’s (His Angels) ready to be put to work, and we can release them to do the work they’ve been assigned to perform on our behalf. (psalm 91:11)For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
This is only, by way of the authority given to us by Jesus, as an Heir.When we were seated with Him at the Father’s right hand. To be able to command, and they harken to His Word.(Romans 8:17)Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
So, know if you want to see those Angels move you must always do so in Jesus’ name (John 1;1)the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself.
So you ask, ” how does that work exactly?” Like this….
In the name of Jesus, ministering Angels, I command you to go out before me and pave my path straight, and protect me on all sides that no hurt, harm, or danger comes to me, or anyone I go out and speak God’s word to tonight. Go now, in Jesus name!(Proverbs 3:6 – psalm 121:7- psalm 91:7- psalm 91:11)
Yep,that simple. It’s the Word, and the name you call them out in, that alerts their attention…there’s no secret formula to it.
Remember it’s the name of Jesus spoken in authority, that the power follows. (Mark 16:17)And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues
Because of this authority being used in Jesus’ name. The name above all names, things have to happen. (Philippians 2:9)Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names,
This authority is everything y’all!
Every spiritual gift you possess is connected to Him, and His authority through you. (James 1:17)Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
The only way we as Believers can begin to see the miraculous acts that Jesus performed on earth, is if we believe that we have the life of Him living on the inside of us, and then, we’ll be able to see results as Jesus did.
The results of speaking a thing and it be so, no matter the mountain (your problems)…
The results of laying hands on the sick, and they recover.
The results of casting out demons, and witnessing them depart.
The results of spreading the Good News to every person willing to listen and hear, and rejoicing with them, as they get Born Again. (Luke 15:10)In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”
All God wants is for us (Born Again Believers) to act as He originally intended, as His representative here on Earth.(2 Corinthians 5:20)So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!”
Do you see what the authority Jesus handed off to His followers carry? His permission; His right to command; His privileges; His power; His rule; His control; and His influence. That’s a high position to hold.
But, we have been set in a Heavenly position, right? (Ephesians 2:6)For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus.
Being seated in this position has given us authority beyond the normal human authority.
The God given authority has given us the right to have an impact on things.
Like to decree and declare; to turn judgements in our favor; and put into action Biblical rights and privileges on earth.
Listen, the resurrection of Jesus put us at such an advantage with God, as Born Again Believers, that our lives are no longer subject to our human nature or genetics. It’s now a product of the Spirit of Life that’s on the inside of us. (2 Corinthians 5:17)Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. But, do you believe that?
I recently heard ( Bishop Clarence McClendon) speak this; “That whoever your mother was, and whoever your father was, and whatever they did in their life, has no bearing on you, who is the new creation( YOU) born again.”
Why, he says,” because the source of your life is not in your genes or your bloodline, but the source of your life is in the Spirit of the living God!”
I have to tell you, when I heard that, I was like” that is so true”, only because of what the Word of God says, that all the old has passed away. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
So yes, that also includes bloodlines, generational curses, family disorders or disabilities, none of that has a right to come on you because of (what the blood of Jesus did) for us as Born Again Believer! Hallelujah!!
Truth be told, the reason why more people aren’t seeing the miraculous results as they lay hands on people they’re praying for, is because they’re not using their authority and commanding God’s power!
They’re just asking Jesus to do all the work, and He won’t. He’s commanded you to, and has given you the authority to do so.(Matthew 10:16)“Listen carefully: I am sending you out like sheep among wolves; so be wise as serpents, and innocent as doves [have no self-serving agenda].
Where people go wrong is when they think they’re the power source behind that authority and they’re not! You’re only in control of what that power does, by the Word of God spoken.
After all God does say command ye me(Isaiah 45:11) Thus saith the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker, Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye me.
So take the authority He has given you and become commanders!
know that being connected to Jesus, and under His covering, Satan has no authority or power over you!.And as Believers you should not stop with authority, but you should also rule and reign in dominion. The dominion given to you from the beginning.(Genesis 1:26-28)
That given dominion and authority should be something you rule and reign in at all times, not just when you pick and choose to use it….
