God Help Me Understand As A New Believer....

If I’m saved, Why do I still think the same and see the old me?

Can we keep it (100)?

Just because you say “Jesus I believe,” and has invited Him into your life, doesn’t make your thoughts, actions, and responses  new overnight…..Yes, for sure you are a new creature, because the Word says so, however, some people think once they repent, say the prayer of Salvation, and invite Jesus into their lives as their Savior, all their problems will simply disappear, and this is not true. (1Cor. 5:17) Anyone who is joined to Christ is a new being; the old is gone, the new has come.

But, this is the good news for you! God is not expecting you to change overnight, so there is no need to feel overwhelmed with that. All the Father wants you to do is just allow the Holy Spirit to transform you from the inside out, and take it one day at a time, be faithful to what the Holy Spirit is teaching you, and to look, sound and  be a demonstratot of His for others to see. (Eph.4:24)Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.

Listen, we were all born into sin, and we grew up in that sin, until we could make the decision to get our lives right and accept Christ as our Lord and Savior. We lived a sinful life for a long time, but we were promised that if we follow Him, we won’t have to walk in darkness anymore, Amen (John 8:12)Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.”.

The truth of it all is this, it doesn’t matter whether you are a believer or not, you will still face issues of this world, Jesus did and so will you, the only difference is that Jesus never sinned! Amen! You will still see, think, and hear, the old you until your mind is renewed with the Word of God, and you begin to find out how He expects you to live as a believer

People tried to come up with new ways to trap and kill Jesus everyday! Would’nt you call that tribulation? (John 16:23)These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.

So, you ask yourself- “you mean to tell me that things will still look the same in my life after receiving Christ as my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ?” And, the answer is, Yes they will…for a little while…

By you saying “Jesus I invite You” is just the beginning. This is a lifetime walk and in this walk with Jesus you have to walk by faith, and in obedience to His ways of doing things. (2 Cor. 5:7) For we live by faith, not by sight. Things might still seem to look the same in your life, but trust! If you are being obedient to what the Spirit of God is telling you to do, then He is working. God is an inside out type of worker. He works on us first and then He works on our circumstances… He is an “In seconds kind of God! He can change your entire life “IN SECONDS!” Trust He got you, you are never alone, He is going to help you as you walk with Him, because you are now One with Him. (John 12:44-50)

Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me. And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me. I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak

Becoming a believer comes with the responsibility of developing a genuine relationship with God the Father and getting to know Him, by connecting to a bible teaching church, with reading your Word, and talking to Him (praying) on a daily basis, so you can develop an inner ear for His voice. ( 2 Tim 2:15)Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.

So, now that you are on team Jesus, Satan is really going to come after you with a vengeance, because he no longer has you on his team, so you are now his enemy, and he hates you. He hates you because your life is new, and he knows you are no longer his minion! You now have the Holy Spirit living within you, who wants to lead you, and guide you into all truth, but you have to be willing to be led, guided, and redirected towards the light of truth! ( John 8:12 par.) “I am the light of the world.

You have to be willing to take a back seat with your ways of doing things! (Psalm 32:8)will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.

Truth is, you cannot become a follower of something that you do not really believe in, so you are either going to have to trust Him wholeheartedly, or don’t trust Him at all! (John 16:13)When, however, the Spirit comes, who reveals the truth about God, he will lead you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own authority, but he will speak of what he hears and will tell you of things to come.

Once upon a time, you were a minion of team Satan and lived the worldly norm every single day. Now, that you are on team Jesus, you live a life of war! Tug of war that is. God’s army is fighting to keep you from going back to what used to be your norm, and Satan’s army is fighting to remind you of what you left behind when you were with him. This is his effort to try and get you back! He’ll just keep bringing up the past and what you once desired. (John 10:10)The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I am come that they may have life, and may have it more abundantly.

As a new believer, who is constantly being reminded of your past by Satan, it can become challenging, but you have to remember the one advantage that you have over him and his temptation, and that is your faith, God’s promises, your freedom from eternal damnation, and your new found life! (All things become new) 2 Cor. 5:17 partial[reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life].

As a team Jesus saint, you need to gain a renewed mind and build strong faith so you can stay in the fight, So, stay grounded in God the Father, let the Holy Spirit work in your life to change you, and your old way of thinking, so He can lead you into all truth, as it’s spoken of in His Word, Amen! (Psa.119:105)Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.

And, once you’ve built a strong foundation in Christ, which will become a relationship like no other, you can not begin thinking you are strong enough to walk this walk on your own, and that you got this, because you can not! This is only a trick of the enemy to lure you away from the truth of God’s Word…You have to know that you cannot fight this fight on your own, you have to believe that it’s only by God’s Spirit that you are saved and not because of anything or anyone else, Amen! It was by His Spirit you were saved, and it will only be by His Spirit that you will win this fight….(1Tim 6:12)Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses

Just remember this quote by (Dr.Jim Denison)sin always takes you further than you wanted to go, keeps you longer than you wanted to stay, and costs you more than you wanted to pay.” (1 John 5:17) All wrongdoing is sin, but there is sin that does not lead to death. So, what is that sin that does not lead to death? That is confessed sin! When you repent of your sin from your heart and not just with your lips, and turn from it, and fight against it, you will be forgiven! And, remember this as well, sinning is a choice, you don’t have to do it, but also know if it does happen to trip you up, repent and turn from it. (Acts 3:19)Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away. It’s when you go on sinning is when it get’s questionable….

Repeated sin can be a sign that, when you repented the last time, did you really mean it, or were you just repenting because you felt bad about your sin in that moment………God knows your heart and He knows when your repentance is from the heart……..because you will turn ccmpletely from it! Amen! (1John 3:6) No one who abides in Him [who remains united in fellowship with Him—deliberately, knowingly, and habitually] practices sin. No one who habitually sins has seen Him or known Him.

Food For Though – Jesus is the Bread of Life. He is the Lover Of Our Souls. And, Total Satisfaction can ONLY be Found in Him, Amen!

Be Blessed….
