Question? Did you know that the Word of God feeds your faith? Whether it’s read, or heard by ear, as long as it’s being applied.(Rom.10:17)So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
Faith is produced when you feed on the Word for your spiritual food. Yes, the Word of God grows your faith and makes it stronger! The more Word you get in your heart the stronger your faith in God grows.(Heb 11:1)Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses].
Just as food feeds your physical body, and gives it energy to make it stronger…and just as wind blows to feed a fire, God’s Word nourishes and strengthens your faith.
How is that you may be asking. How does the Word of God feed your faith? ……In multiple ways!
It First Does So… when we take a front row seat, on a daily basis, at His royal table! The place where we can go and partake of His exquisite one of a kind spread of the (Gospel)! The Good News of Jesus, and all that’s attached to Him, in the framework of Love, Grace, Mercy, Historic storylines, Psalms, Principles and Precepts, Promises, Consequences, Freedom and Salvation! (2 Tim. 3:16)All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.
And, even though it may seem like Salvation is all you need, however learning to live a life for God here on this earth and being a full time advocate for Him takes a lifetime…. we will always be learning and growing in Him, because He is inexhaustible..
(Rom. 11:23)Oh, how inexhaustible are God’s resources and God’s wisdom and God’s knowledge! (Par)
Secondly, With Your Eyes …. As you read the Word, the Holy Spirit will help you understand what you are reading and give you an understanding that only He can give. I’m not saying that your understanding can’t come in other ways or through other sources, however even today you must be very careful with those sources, and reference what is being spoken, back to His Word (Bible)! This is why you must know the Word of God for yourself, so you must study it for yourself, Amen!
(2 Tim. 2:15)Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Thirdly, As You Hear And Listen…. The Word of God speaks to your Spirit as you gain understanding from the Word of God you’re listening to, whether by(TV- Video- Radio). It’s all being ministered to your Spirit through your ear gate.
(PSALM.85:8)I will hear [with expectant hope] what God the LORD will say, For He will speak peace to His people, to His godly ones— But let them not turn again to folly.
Also, As You Pray…. Prayer is about (communication),
When you pray the biggest part you play here is by listening to what is being said to your heart, as you sit listen for any instruction, direction, or correction. As you converse it must go two ways. You talk as He listens, and He talks back, as you listen and obey, Amen!
(Psalm 32:8)I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.
(Matt. 6:6-7)But when you pray, go into your most private room, close the door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees [what is done] in secret will reward you.“And when you pray, do not use meaningless repetition as the Gentiles do, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.
Also, As You Worship…. (A place of reverence and honor),
This is the place where your mind is completely set on Him, and you’re in a posture of gratitude, whether with hands raised high, or you on your knees, or laid out prostrate on your stomach…as you’re expressing your love to Him in total awe and holiness…..Allow the tears! Allow His presence to take over and en-blanket your body (it’s the Holy Spirit)! Enjoy the peace that comes with your worship to Him. That peace that takes over!
(Phil. 4:7)And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours
(John 4:23)But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him.
Also…..As You Fast Unto The Lord (consecration to God),
This is a time set aside only for Him….. As you go into your time of fasting and praying, ask God to let you know, for how long should you fast, ask Him in what area of your life is it needed, ask Him how He would want your fast to be partaken of. Remember the fast is unto Him where consecration is concerned, but for you, where enlightenment is concerned for growth ….
(Matt.6:16)When you fast, stop looking sad like hypocrites. They put on sad faces to make it obvious that they’re fasting. I can guarantee this truth: That will be their only reward.
Also….As You Live In Total Obedience (obeying His Word),
To walk in obedience is to keep His commands!
As you live a life of obedience to God, and expose your heart to Him day by day, and moment by moment, He will renew your mind, and your views to His Word and His ways. This will bring you to a newly transformed way of thinking and acting differently, as opposed to your old ways…True obedience leads to right living, Amen!
(Rom. 6:16)Do you not know that when you continually offer yourselves to someone to do his will, you are the slaves of the one whom you obey, either [slaves] of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness (right standing with God)?
(John 14:15)If you love me, you will keep my commandments.
(1Pet.1:14)As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance.
That’s just to name a few. Just stay mindful that your faith needs to be fed daily. And, that your faith can only remain strong by putting your eyes on it and allowing your ears to hear what God has said in it concerning you.
So how would you answer, if I asked you, ‘Are you eating?’ Are you getting up from the table of God faithfully filled?
And, if you’re not, would it be fair for me to say, from one believer to another, that your hands aren’t being stretched out far enough to reach for it, that your heart and mind isn’t fixed on it, and that your ears aren’t tuned into it enough to inquire about what He has to say about you in it.(Jer. 29:13) If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.
If this is you, Don’t Quit!! Don’t Allow Satan To Have The Victory! God Loves You Too Much!!!(Isa. 40:21)But those who wait for the LORD [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] Will gain new strength and renew their power; They will lift up their wings [and rise up close to God] like eagles [rising toward the sun]; They will run and not become weary, They will walk and not grow tired.
Listen! The Word of God isn’t something we should just be reaching for anyways, it should be something we’re running after! (1 Pet. 2:2)like newborn babies [you should] long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may be nurtured and grow in respect to salvation [its ultimate fulfillment].
Why, because it: covers us, it keeps us, it teaches us, it encourages us, it uplifts us! And, there’s nothing else that has the power to transform us from a sinner to a saint, except the Power Of Jesus (working in our lives), and the Word Of God as our guide (to help keep us on the straight and narrow…..) Amen!
I ask…. Is it possible to read the Word of God and miss the Gospel? Absolutely! How, you ask? Simply by reading it in your own basic understanding, and coming up with your own interpretation, and forming your own revelation, that’s how, Amen! (Prov. 3:5)Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. This is how ( CULTS) are created. We aim for Jesus! Not a Cult!
God’s Word is truth and it is alive! Sharper than any two edged sword! And (Jesus) the (Christ) is at the center of every chapter, every story, and every verse!
And, the Holy Spirit is the One who intimately brings us together as one with Him, through the pages of His Word. Those Words that have so intricately been knitted together for us! (Heb. 4:12)For the word of God is living and active and full of power [making it operative, energizing, and effective]. It is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating as far as the division of the soul and spirit [the completeness of a person], and of both joints and marrow [the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and judging the very thoughts and intentions of the heart.
As our intimacy with His Word grows our faith more and more, it becomes our why! And Christ becomes our reason behind that why! As we’re taught the how! Amen..
(Gal. 2:20) I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
When you come to the understanding that the Word of God is so much more than a book of rules, history, bloodlines, prophecies, and stories, but It’s the Word of God! It becomes your arsenal to your everyday life situations…(Prov. 119:105)Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.
It’s His Word that teaches us, and shows us His way of living and being for our lives, as we represent Him.
It’s what makes us Sanctified, Holy, and Set Apart just for Him. Yep! It’s God who has, and is continuing to do a great work inside of us.
He’s the One who opens His arms to the sinners, and helps turn them into saints! He does this by inviting (all) to come in as they are to Him, by way of His son Jesus Christ, and the moment we do, believing! He is now our Father, Amen!! Sounds praise worthy to me! Thank you Jesus!! (Matt. 4:19)And He said to them, “Follow Me [as My disciples, accepting Me as your Master and Teacher and walking the same path of life that I walk], and I will make you fishers of men.
So, let’s not only believe His Word because it makes you feel good, let’s believe it because His reason was (you) from the beginning and still is (you) today! Amen…
Neither, do you need to believe that His Word is a hiding post to get away with the sin that so easily ensnares you (Heb.12:2) and has yet to be dealt with, Amen! No!!!! Don’t be fooled in believing that! However believe this! The closer you get to God, the less you’re going to want to go against Him in sin…..why? Because God and sin don’t mesh, so if you’re playing, better believe, you will be found out! (Num.32:23)But if you fail to keep your word, then you will have sinned against the LORD, and you may be sure that your sin will find you out.
The last thing God is trying to achieve is fear, to scare you in your ignorance of not knowing His Word! However! He does want to reach you – as He teaches you – who He is – as you dwell in it, Amen!
(2 Tim.3:16)All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.
It’s in the Word of God, as you’re feasting on it at every chance you get, is when your faith in God grows to heights you’d never thought it could and things start happening on the inside of you supernaturally! And, that thing is called transformation.
It’s that transformation that only He can bring about, Amen! (2 Cor. 2:18)And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
And, with that transformation comes memorization! It’s when you start to hold on to His every Word, His every promise! And you start to memorizie the scriptures and promises that you’re feeding on, Amen!
You start putting His Word into action and quoting it as you stand on it, when problems arise. This is when you can bring them back to memory in time of need.
God’s Word will always put you back in focus! (John 14:26)But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. (Psalm 119:11)I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.
If you remember anything from this post remember this… Absentee Word! Leads To Starvation…. and the side effects to starving faith, is weakness! (2 Cor. 5:7)For we walk by faith, not by sight. We the believer don’t only walk by this! We live this!
Starving faith can’t do much for you, because in that state of malnutrition, it’s hard trusting His Word, it’s hard believing His promises, it’s hard keeping your eyes and ears on Him as your solid foundation.
Starving faith keeps your head, ears, and eyes on a swivel, looking for what looks and sounds good to the flesh, and you know what comes with that….yep defeat!
So, stay hydrated and well nourished, Amen!
(Heb. 11:6)But without faith it is impossible to [walk with God and] please Him, for whoever comes [near] to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He rewards those who [earnestly and diligently] seek Him.
Be Blessed….
