Well, that doesn’t sound like God, so who do you think came up with that statement and planted it in the mind of an individual (because that’s all it takes) who would then pass it along to others so it could become a cliche?
Who do you think? If you said Satan you’re right ….(Eph.6:11) Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.
Believers in Christ should know not to let a phrase like that ever pass their lips! Why, because that’s not how God thinks, and He doesn’t want you to either.(1 Cor.2:16) For Who Has Known The Mind And Purposes Of The LORD, So As To Instruct HIM? But we have the mind of Christ [to be guided by His thoughts and purposes].
God wants you to follow His Son’s lead and abide by this rule. (Rom 12:17-21) Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,”says the Lord. On the contrary:“If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
The God you and I serve is “LOVE!” He would never want His children to get anyone back with an act of hurt. That wouldn’t be operating in His Love.(1 Cor 13:4-7) Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
That saying, “Hurt People Hurt People”, is the world’s way of thinking; because it says, “It’s okay to hurt back because I’ve been hurt”, but it’s not cool in God’s eyes.(Rom.12:2)Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
God wants you to live at peace with all! He wants you not to repay evil with evil. He doesn’t want you to take revenge. However, this is humanity’s first instinct.
Retaliation! How can I retaliate! And these thoughts can even creep into the minds of believers, whether acted upon or not. It’s that sinful nature a believer should be dead too, once alive in Christ! (Rom. 6:10-11) When he died, he died once to break the power of sin. But now that he lives, he lives for the glory of God. So you also should consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus.
Did you think because you’re saved, Satan isn’t still going to try to flood your mind with all types of unGodly thoughts about how to get someone back! He longs for it! For you to do the opposite of what God would have you do! (Jam.4:7) Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
This is why He tells you to take every thought captive, forgive the person that had wronged you, and leave it alone, never bringing it up again. Amen! (2 Cor.10:5) We pull down every proud obstacle that is raised against the knowledge of God; we take every thought captive and make it obey Christ.
God will take care of them! He is our vindicator! That’s His job! However! The way God repays is different from the way man repays! Consequently, if you think God is going to harm the person that hurt you, the way you want Him to harm them, you’re wrong…..most likely, it’s not going down like that!
if He told you not to repay evil with evil, then you’re not to do that! And being in
Christ is what helps you keep your mind on Him, and His way of doing things, (especially when you’ve been hurt or wronged).
Remember He is the One you chose to follow! He is the One who purchased you with His blood, Amen!
(Luke. 6:46)”Why do you keep calling me ‘Lord, Lord,’ but don’t do what I tell you!
(1 Thes.1:6) God will do what is right: he will bring suffering on those who make you suffer, (Psalm 105:15) Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.
For anyone to believe it’s okay to think that way as a follower of Christ missed the “memo” on Grace and Mercy! (Heb.4:16)Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (Matt.5:7)“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.
Truth be told…..as followers of Christ, you must show Grace! And, you must have a heart of forgiveness just as He has had for you and me.(1 John.2:6)Whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.
God loves you so much! He doesn’t want you to deal with hurt in the same manner as the world does, by pondering on it over and over again.
Rather than running away from Him, He wants you to run to Him and face your hurt head on. Why, because He knows when you’re left alone to deal with that hurt, it’ll slowly become poison that then creates bitterness and hatred! And, He doesn’t want that for His children. (Pro.18:10)The LORD is a mighty tower where his people can run for safety
He is the Only Source who can lead you into a place of Spiritual Awareness concerning your hurt. He will show you how to deal with the situation “His way”, with love and forgiveness.
He is the only One who is capable of guiding you through your pain and hurt, while getting you to the place of complete healing through that forgiveness!
When you put Him at the front of your hurt, it’ll quickly eradicate any and all STRONGHOLDS that want to form….
The only time your hurt becomes a stronghold is when you hold on to it instead of acknowledging it as a problem (This is a fortified place in the mind where negative or ungodly thoughts, beliefs, or behaviors have taken root, making it difficult to break free from its influence)
And, when the hurt is never dealt with, it then turns into anger and rage because you’ve suppressed it for so long. And, that’s something He wants His children to avoid at all costs, because those human emotions often stem from an unGodly place, that will then turn into resentment. A resentment that stems from that place of hurt.
And, this is the reason why He said, “Come to Me” All who are heavy laden (Weighed Down), and I will give you rest!! (Matt.11:28-30) Come to me, all of you who are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke and put it on you, and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in spirit; and you will find rest. For the yoke I will give you is easy, and the load I will put on you is light.”
God knows that all He has to do is get you to that place of forgiveness to break the hurt of your wounded soul, and then you can move on!
He’s our Father, He knows how to handle us, His children….(Heb.12:6)The Lord disciplines everyone he loves. He severely disciplines everyone he accepts as his child.”
Why else do you think it’s so hard for the people that belong to the world to do it, forgive that is?
It’s because of the blinding influence of Satan among the world. He has told them that forgiveness is forbidden and for the weak! But, forgiveness is power! And it comes from a place of love and freedom y’all! (1 John.4:8)Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
Freedom not only for you, but for the other person as well who’s hurt you! For them because they no longer hold a place in your mind! That soul tie has been broken!
I have a question, Why is it that the deepest hurt comes from the ones you are closest to? It’s because you share spiritual SOUL TIES!! (Read this book about soul ties) https://www.vancekjackson.com/product-page/heart-detox-the-war-for-your-soul-paperback
The quicker you gain an understanding that holding on to hurt is only a tool of the enemy who just wants to keep you in bondage! The sooner you’ll want to let it go…..
Those who are in covenant with Jesus live for a kingdom of grace, mercy, and forgiveness, not a kingdom of paybacks. The only way to break this vicious cycle of wanting to hurt others is by finding your healing and completeness in God, Amen! (Isa.53:5)But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed.
So, what is the moral of
hurt? Yes! Forgiveness!
Why? Because to forgive inspite of the hurt, is also to forgive in spite of the brokenness! And, nothing should be that unforgivable, or undeserving of your forgiveness, when you are on team Jesus! (Luke 23:34) Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.
Jesus asked God to forgive them, even as He hung on that cross!! But we can’t!!
So! Remember! In order to end any residual hurt, you must forgive! And, in order to forgive, you must have love residing on the inside of you, Amen! (1 Cor.13:7) Love forgives everything. Love is always trusting, and always hoping, and never gives up!
Be Blessed….
