Question, why does God most of the time say No?
(Jer.29:11) For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
Did you ever stop to think that God’s (No) may just be your life preserver, your guard, your protection, or what’s just been keeping you….(Psa. 32:7) You are a hiding place for me; you preserve me from trouble; you surround me with shouts of deliverance. Selah
In spite of whether you understand His (No) or not, I can assure you, it has its benefits!! (Pro. 3:5) Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.
And, FYI….. Didn’t you know that God does not have to answer your prayers with a (Yes) just because you ask.
And, FYI….. Didn’t you know that God does not have to explain the reason He said (No)….
Listen, when you go before God for anything, He already knows what you’re going to ask before you ask it. He’s never blindsided by your requests… (Psalm 139:4) Even before there is a word on my tongue [still unspoken],
Behold, O Lord, You know it all
Your Heavenly Father wants what’s best for you, and He knows what’s best for you as His child, so in your asking, He may have to say (No)….
You must remember who you’re in a relationship with! Yes! A loving, All-knowing, Protective God, who has you on His mind at all times! He may feel that what you want right now may not be what He wants for you at that moment, or it may not be in His Will for you at all.
(Psa. 32:8) I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.
I know that God said He’ll give you the desires of your heart, but what desires are He really concerned about? Is it the desires of the flesh or of the Spirit……let’s find out!
It says here In, (Psalms 20:4) May He grant you according to your heart’s desire, And fulfill all your purpose. And here in (Psalms 37:4) Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you your heart’s desires.
Psalm 37:4, believe it or not, is always misconstrued…. This scripture isn’t supposed to be read in the sense of fulfilling “selfish interests,” but should be read concerning true spiritual connection. Your heart’s desire should be wanting more of Him – Your heart’s desire should be wanting to hear more from Him more than anyone else! In which, should always leave you feeling satisfied and content in every way, Amen….
Why not read that scripture in that manner! Instead of a worldly manner! To think “God will give me what I want”, by reading it, should show you where your heart is spiritually, if that scripture gears your mind to think of worldly desires, Amen! (Matt. 6:21) for where your treasure is, there your heart [your wishes, your desires; that on which your life centers] will be also.
As a Believer in Christ shouldn’t your desires rest in God? In His Word – In your studying – In your being taught by the Holy Spirit! (2 Tim.2:15) Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
God would find that more beneficial for you as a Believer than worldly possessions! It’s in those moments where your heart becomes aligned with His, and you find complete satisfaction! (Psa. 16:11) You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
Your agenda should never be focused on how you can get more external things, but focused on how you can grow deeper in the Spiritual things…..learning how to get to that place of delighting in Him, that the scripture talks about, Amen! (Psa. 37:4)
It’s in that place of (Delighting) in Him, where you’ll find your heart’s desire…
It’s in that place where you’ll never be disappointed, but joyful…
It’s in that place where He’ll fill you up more and more spiritually, Hallelujah!!
It’s in that place where He’ll speak to you behind the scriptures! (Jer. 29:13) When you look for me, you will find me. When you wholeheartedly seek me,
In that place of delighting in Him, shows Him just how important He is in your life…
And When He’s shown to be #1, He’ll know He’s #1 and He’ll give all of Himself to you! When you delight yourself in Him, you’ll find out He’s all you need! (Matt. 6:33) But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Those things added refers to the necessities of life (https://biblehub.com/matthew/6-33.htm)
Ponder on that the next time you go to God asking, and He says (No)! Don’t get upset because you want what you want now! Just remember later down the road when the pain has moved on from that (No), you’ll be able to see the benefit of it, and give thanks to God for His wisdom and what that (No) saved you from..(Jeremiah 29:11)
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
I assure you that it is those who hear God’s (No), obey God’s (No), and remain still in that (No) who don’t need to be redirected or rerouted back from a potentially dangerous mass destruction He was saving you from in the first place!
So, how do you respond when God says (No)? Do you walk away “Big Mad?”
Do you do what you want anyway? Or, do you submit, knowing He got you even in the (No)?
His (No) is always, always, always! For your good, Amen….
You are not the first He said (No) to, and you’re not going to be the last. God said (No) to countless from the old testament to the new!
Truth be told…A (No) from God hurts the most when we’re not aligned with His Purpose and His Will for us!
Maybe next time God says (No), just say ‘thank you’!
Be Blessed….
