So, You question “How do I know that Jesus is the only way to God?”
To me asking a question like that, is asking a question like, “why is the sky blue or why is water clear. Because it is……………
Okay, sorry…
But when that question about how do I know that Jesus is the only way to God arises…….I always ask “how do you know He is not”?
We as Christians know that He is the only way, because that’s what our living History Book(the Bible) tells us right?
Look at it like this;
what do you have to lose living like it tells you to live? “nothing” if anything you gain, you gain a good life here on earth(Matthew 16:26)
For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
Just like every person born into this earth has a father, everyone needs more than forgiveness, they need a personal Lord and Savior.
I’m not talking about Buddha, not Muhammad, not the sun, not the moon and not a statue but Jesus. He is the only way – (John. 14:6)
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
(Acts 4:12)Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
(1 Tim.2:5)For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
We must remember that before Jesus we were separated from God, and strangers to the covenants of promises, having no hope without God in this world – (Ephesians 2:12)
That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
Everyone born is born into sin because of Adam and Eve, it’s not until you confess Jesus as Lord and Savior, you can be redeemed by means of righteous living – (Romans 10:9-10)because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
(Ephesians 3:19-20)
And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.
Jesus Christ is our means of escape, He is the only One that has died for the sins of mankind, not Buddha, not Muhammad, not the sun or the moon.
Christianity is different from any and all religions of the world, in one important content ( it’s not a religion, but a relationship).
To think that God reached out to man to save him because we were too helpless to save ourselves.
Religion in this world is based on man’s efforts to reach God.
The world’s Religion teaches man that they have to do righteous deeds, or perform religious services, in order to become good enough for Salvation like ( kill people, kill themselves etc)
Religion tells man that they have to pray a certain number of times a day in a certain manner, facing a certain direction.
Religion teaches that a man must wear a particular type of religious clothing, or they must visit a certain religious shrine or temple.
Religion teaches that man must worship in a certain way.
Religion teaches that a sacrifice is required and even infliction of pain upon another in order to be holy in the sight of God.
Some religions even teach that there is a right and a wrong day to worship, when worship should be a part of your life everyday – (Psalm 145:2)
Every day I will bless you and praise your name forever and ever.
In these different religions, one does not know if they have been good enough, prayed long enough, worked hard enough to even earn the warrant they need to forgive their sins.
Christianity is nothing like that.
The bible teaches that man is a sinner and can never earn Salvation by what he or she does.
There is no one righteous – (Romans 3:10)
10 as it is written:
“None is righteous, no, not one;
All HAVE sinned (Romans 3:23)
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
After gaining the knowledge of the truth you shouldn’t want to sin anymore
(Hebrews 10:26)
For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins.
Jesus Christ is the only One who never sinned, this is how He could be the only One who could pay the price, and carry the sins of all people who ever lived – (1 John 2:2)And He [that same Jesus] is the propitiation for our sins [the atoning sacrifice that holds back the wrath of God that would otherwise be directed at us because of our sinful nature—our worldliness, our lifestyle]; and not for ours alone, but also for [the sins of all believers throughout] the whole world.
He was the sacrificial lamb who took upon Himself our sins.
Salvation comes only through the grace of God toward all man and it can only be received by faith, not by any deed we could ever do – (Ephesians 2:8-9)
God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.
No matter how good you are, how religious you are, or what you do or call yourself doing for God, you can never be good enough or holy enough to earn Salvation.
Salvation has been made available to us because and only because of Jesus Christ who bore our sins on the cross – (John 3:16)
“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
All we have to do is believe and receive what Jesus did on the cross to bring Salvation.
